Here's how to remove a hedge with a hackzall. It's in real-time with a few different angles to show you what all it takes.
The main goal for this project was to remove these dying laurels and replace them with something better. We chose a kind of juniper so that the foliage is more dense as well as being far less appealing to deer browsing.
As a secondary goal, we transplanted these laurels to another edge of the property where they're put to use bulking up the privacy hedge there. It's been long enough that I can now say that only two laurels died in this process, so we're pretty pleased with the relocation!
When you're using a toothed tool in the dirt like this, it's going to dull very quickly, so be sure to bring a lot of spares!
