Removing a side mirror on a 2007 - 2012 Nissan Versa.

A demo on pulling a side mirror of a donor car in a you-pull-it junkyard, I mean "automotive recycling facility". One of my favorite places for treasure hunting. Installation is the reverse of removal of course.

It kinda sucks that that is the only piece I needed but just sneaking that part out would be un-cool. I'd rather pay extra and have them there when I need something else. Thanks.

Any chance of removing the cover without taking the whole assembly off? I hit mine and the mirror's cracked and a piece of the cover came off, looks like a dog but off the lower right corner but otherwise it works. I think i can fix the cracked mirror pretty easy but don't want to bother with the cover if its difficult since its an 07 car.

Sorry for the late reply. If You haven't taken this on yet, I would think it's just easier to replace the whole thing. Trying to pull off just the cover might break it and you will be back to the same point. I do have a spare mirror assy. If I get a chance to look at it and it looks doable, I'll update you. If not I'll stand with the replacement being easier. If it's just the mirror, they make a stick on replacement for my Tahoe. Might make one to fit the Versa, but that just fixes the mirror issue. Thanks.

I have a 2013 hatchback and can't find replacement mirrors/installation but it all looks the same as the earlier years. Do you know of any difference? Thanks in advance!

HI, thanks for watching even though it might not match your car. I'm not familiar with the 2013 setup but as you mention, it is probably pretty similar. If you have access to a you pull it yard, I suggest you go over and take a shot at pulling one. Most have their inventory listed online. You can always paint it if you don't find an exact color match. Pulling one from a junker lets you work out how to get it without having to worry about messing up yours. Good luck.

Well, thanks for the comment. I try to make these videos as useful as possible with all the techniques and tool sizes that I use to do the work. There are other methods I'm sure but I try to show as much as I can to make it as easy as possible showing the actual procedure I use as I do it, mistakes and all so that the viewers can avoid those and get the job done as safely and quickly as possible. My suggestion is to view other videos as well of the same job. Hopefully you can get enough info to help you out. Good luck.
