OMG thank you so much! I've been trying to work out how to remove the crop masking during shooting and just could not find it in the menu. Had NO idea it was actually a part of the cropping info... gah, there's 45 mins I'm not going to get back lol. Thanks again! :)

Your welcome. Gald it's helping other photographers. The first two days I was wondering why it was showing up also. Finally worked it out. As long as your playback from the 'Raws' and not the jpegs you'll be fine. Best.

@@SmartPhotoVault Yeah for me it was more that I couldn't see outside the cropped zone while shooting. On my old 5D I could have sworn it was in a different spot, now I've got the R5 I found it most vexing that it wasn't in the same place lol. Thanks again :)

I had this happen to me today and don't know if I mistakenly hit a button on the outside of the camera that I shouldn't have. There were horizontal lines in my viewfinder after I took a landscape shot and vertical ones on the edge of the image on portrait photos!

is it possible to control the dimension of a square photo (1:1) and control its size ? if yes, what are the minimum & maximum of these measurements ? thank you

Yes you can set the 'aspect ratio' in the camera settings.

I'm not too sure, I haven't access to a M5. ...maybe just cropped the border off. This could be standard thing in video mode?

do you know if this method works for video/movie mode as well? if you could make a video for this but for video shooting that would be amazing! I personally like the lines in video/movie mode so it gives me a reference of where to put the cinematic black borders when I'm editing and it helps with composing the shots. but was curious if this method works in video/movie mode as well without cropping the actual video files. just need the guide lines only. thanks for the video!
@SmartPhotoVault3 жыл бұрын
Not too sure for video. I belive you can change the aspect ratio in camera before shooting the video. Not sure if you get the crop lines though. You might be able to also turn on the grid overlay. I'll try this out later
