What's crazy is I just started pulling out the English ivy at my house and was looking for a video explaining how to remove it correctly. Your video popped up without me having to look! Thank you! All I've been told is wear gloves and pull it out.

Hi there! Wow, that's great you found our video. 😉😊 Glad to help and hope your ivy removal goes well! We didn't mention in the video, but if you have any allergies, you might want to wear a mask because ivy holds onto lots of dust particles. 👋👍

It took my family a few years but we pulled off over 150ft fence and ground covered with Ivy. It wasn’t as hard to remove as we thought. The amount was sure daunting but there was light at the end of the tunnel.

That's awesome and great job getting rid of all of that!

I have an ongoing battle with ivy in my front yard, where it keeps trying to climb up our big maple tree. I also have ivy claiming sections of my back yard. . . never-ending work it seems! It's either the invasive Himalayan blackberries or the English Ivy; gotta stay on top of both!

Yes, we battle the blackberries too!! They spread EVERYWHERE!!

I find it invasive here in the N.IL. area, but still sold in garden centres. Go figure.
@SpokenGarden7 ай бұрын
Right?! They need to stop selling those invasives!!

I’m in Texas and i just bought a home with English ivy. I’m gonna take most of it out. It has invaded areas that it shouldn’t be in.

When I first moved into my house 12 years ago there was ivy growing in several places. I worked away over a few years and finally got rid of it, but every so often a sprig will pop up unannounced. I yank as fast as possible when I see it.

I have English ivy growing wild in my yard. It has never been a problem. My problem is Virginia creeper and poison ivy. Is there any way to eradicate these two???
@SpokenGarden7 ай бұрын
Hi there! 👋👋 We haven't ever had to remove either of those plants, as problem plants, but physical remove is a approach. There are chemical control, but we would say to try physical removal before going the chemical control route. Obviously it's your choice, but that's how we would approach it. 👍👍

I've had a problem as well with poison ivy and poison sumac. You really DO NOT want to pull either of them without protection on your hands and arms. The oil from each plant will definitely cause you more trouble than you bargained for. I have almost gotten rid of mine by using vinegar. Not just regular vinegar, but a combination of 30% vinegar and 75% vinegar. I wear a mask as the fumes are harsh. I use a one gallon sprayer and I spray on a sunny warm day. I actually saturate the ivy and especially the roots. I'm on my 3rd year of doing this. Each year I have less and less. It is hard to get rid of but being persistent is paying off.
