Persistence pays off every time ... Nice work Lee and Co. My money was on Bella for the Ice bath, but I should have known Mum is the original kick ass!! 😉 Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘

The old girl looks a lot better without the blue stripes, stay positive with the work and you are going to end up with an awesome boat. Me saying this as I sit on the lounge and watch you 😂 Great channel

Nice video of a very hard boat job repair of the cutlass bearing. Looks like crew was very appreciative of the boxes of gifts and purchases, much appreciated by them. Nice blend of topics this Catalpa II story. 👍♥️💯📸⛵

Kudos, mate...I have just bailed out of a video of a nice enough guy working on his boat but who has no idea of what things are called or how things work, come apart or go together, and I couldn't watch anymore. It's a pleasure to watch you work, and I would be glad to have you alongside me on one of my marine jobs. Good on you and good on the guys that trained you. Nobody knows everything but if you have the basics you can manage most things. Well done.

It is very Nice to see Bella wearing a YABA T Shirt. Great to see the sailing community supporting each other. YABA is a far bigger boat Job than what Catalpa 11 needs. Ben and M P need all the help they can get. Nice work Bella. David.

That "freezer" looks identical to my Fridge. Mine is an Iceco. I love it, and I've heard I would just turn the temp down and it would be a freezer. Its amazing ! I'm trying to get ready to move on to a boat. Wow, the boat looks spectacular after polishing. I put this video in my Playlist "Sailing Prop Shaft Couplings Stuffing Leaking Replace Cutlass bearing" ! There are so many types of cutlass bearings out there, they are all completely different ! I once saw a cutlass bearing replaced , I believe in the water, with a wooden cutlass bearing (which worked ! ) in I believe remote indonesia but I'm not sure its in this same playlist. i should put it in there. Never Seize (a product here in the U.S. ) ?

There is a way to make a strong puller for that...can use the same tool to bull cylinder sleeves on a perkins...but you knew that....

I was scared Lee was going to cut into the lower unit while cutting out the cutlass bearing . I know I hate to ask to borrow tools but I think lee should have asked around the yard for a puller . I'm sure someone would have helped out . That's a BIG job checked off the list ! Nice work all . 👍

Using a recip saw to get put a cutlass bearing is a very common way to remove them. Even boat yards use this method. The hydraulic press tool is fantastic, but when you don't have one, this method is okay.

I thought the ice baths were childish, I guess you all can eat the Tide pods challenge next. I see Lee wasn't for all the childish crap. hopefully don't have permanent nerve damage from the cold bath.

Hi Sara and team, I have tried to email you over the past few months. Your first email bounced back, Sara email. Then tried your sailing one on website recently. I would love to connect on email as I am a current Pearson 530 owner who has been doing a complete ground up refit and could offer some ideas, etc. also had wondered how the size of the highfield 360 was working for you on your stern.
@SailingCatalpa Жыл бұрын
Hey I’ll have a look to see if I can find your email sometimes I miss them or they get lost sorry about that. Nice choice in boat 😉 yes the highfield 360 is a great size on the back no problem at all.
