In this episode i show you how to remove THE RB25DET head from the block. Head gasket repairs are not fun and i am going to show you why haha. It was fun and knowing the fact that when i put it back together i will be able to crack over 400hp!

Great video, if you're not replacing the head studs you can just take out the main head studs and not take out your cams if you just want to get to the head gasket and save time

Hey man, I got to say this video saved me. I got this same problem on my rb25 and I had no idea how to fix it myself. I’d never touched an engine before this issue arose for me and I needed to fix it myself cause I can’t afford the labor. This video got me though it all. Thank you so much.

Nice video, the sequence of loosening the headbolts are done outside first working your way inwards. The sequence you have done them is how you torque them up.

I know exactly what you mean it is one of the worst engines to work on I work on motors all the time and found that these are a pain in the ass I ended up taking the hole engine out on my second one and all those engines I do all of them like that now I found it sooo much easier plus you can paint the block and bay etc,but everyone one has there own ideas which is great,how ever you doit ,great job mate.

Awesome vid, thanks for recording it. May i ask, how did you know you needed your head gasket replaced? I've got an r34 GT-T and seem to always be losing coolant from the bottle, hoping its not a head gasket, this looked like a pain in the arse to do haha.
@ClutchKickJunkies
@ClutchKickJunkies 5 жыл бұрын
much appreciated man! oh no that sucks man what you can do is. Do a compression test or grab like a water bottle chop it in half and put it in radiator cap and fill it with some coolant and hold bottle firmly in place and see if bubbles start appearing. I was magically losing coolant and started to get white smokes and water leaks from exhaust real bad and I knew instantly was a headgasket others told me it was just bleeding issue but bleeding issue doesn’t cause those symptoms so always do tests on the car

Just did compression on my rb25de and all 6 cylinders 120 psi. Leak test C5 leak on exhaust side 🙄. Will this be the reason all 6 low comp? Because oil wet test maybe extra 10 psi up all 6.

Nice vid. Btw the RB oiling issue is scaring me a lot, people say the motor will blow if the oiling issue goes on, how do you prevent that? And also is it viable to daily drive the RB25 everyday and also take it to drifting from time to time?
@tttt5405
@tttt5405 5 жыл бұрын
Most rb's are fine to daily drive and take to drift events every now and then, Ive never had an rb with oiling issue's and I think the problem is more for higher hp cars, also alot of people have faulty oil pressure gauges which leads people to think theyre suffering from oil pressure or pump issues when really everything is fine
@k4iman
@k4iman 5 жыл бұрын
@@tttt5405 Gotcha, thanks for the info, my car is at 375rwhp, is not considered high hp right?
@tttt5405
@tttt5405 5 жыл бұрын
That's pretty average for a 25det, depends alot how you drive it too, but oiling issues are usually more prevalent around the 400kw mark, depends alot on the history of the engine aswell
