Industrial Laser Cleaning

Hello Ablation nation
Thank you for watching!
Today we are laser cleaning soot off some walls after high-pressure washing had already been through.
The infrared laser pulses were able to effectively remove the smoke, leaving the homeowners incredibly happy with the finished result.

Kevin, thanks for all that you post, great help for me starting out. In a number of your videos you have screens set up, when videoing brick/tile/concrete... there are no screens. I assume beam reflection is not an issue for such porous materials. How have you reassured yourself and clients that it's not a risk. Or am I off base. All the best.

I'm just starting out in New Zealand, awesome videos, very informative, thanks. What product do you use to block the windows and the foldout barrier screen ? Cheers Kerry

Hey Kerry, good luck on your new adventure. The plastic we use is like a large 1.2m roll of white sticky tape. The screens are from Sheerspeed in The UK, just search "laser" on their website. Additionally we've written an ebook that's available from www.industriallasercleaning.com.au

Thanks for the video, are you hourly rate or day rate - also, what do you charge for both?
@projectlaser
@projectlaser 2 жыл бұрын
Our hourly rate is but a fraction of the day rate. Our day rate is 1% of the cost of our equipment, laser, van, generator + the cost of the operator

@@projectlaser that’s a big number, thanks for sharing. Are you guys booked up for work? What’s the workload looking like? I’m very interested to get in to this sector over in Edinburgh, Scotland.

@@MIKALI. We're 3 times more expensive than our competitors, though they have cheap Chinese lasers and we don't compare when it comes to the technology, health and safety and documentation. We're getting to where we want to be. Scotland would have lots of potential applications in the oil and gas sectors, as well as cleaning historic buildings

@@projectlaser Exactly, that’s my target market. There’s no one in Scotland doing it at the moment I don’t think. I take it all laser suppliers give full training upon purchase? Who are the big players and who is market leading in your view? Real valuable info for me right now.

What laser pulse or CW and wattage did you use

CW wouldn't work in this application, this a 500W 100mj top hat from 4Jet

From your other comments O&G industries along with paint removal jobs. Can easily sell laser cleaning. But what was your cost and laser machine you purchased. And how can you it mobile. Those lasers must draw a lot of electricity
@projectlaser
@projectlaser 2 жыл бұрын
Hi JG, Nothing has been easy, unfortunately, though the O&G sector definitely is a huge market for us. We have a 16KVA generator in the van that powers the laser and a 2nd generator that powers the extraction unit and the Compressor. We use a 4Jet 500W laser and the purchase price from Germany is North of 225,000Euro

@@projectlaser is unfortunate because clients don't believe in laser cleaning or is a safety issue. Where most O & G refineries ban open flames or anything that can cause a fire. Because the first thing that came to mind is welding prep with that laser. And refineries have lots of welding to do on top of the painting
