Removing Stains OFF WHITE COUNTERTOPS! HOMEMADE DIY Cleaning HACK!

Sharing a quick homemade cleaning hack I came across after getting a nasty stain on our countertop. This should work on laminate, granite, resin and more. It's doesn't discolor like bleach does and is safe to use on most surfaces. Best of all no scrubbing needed! Make this baking soda mixture and Just leave overnight or for a few days depending on the stain. Light stains can only take hours. I hope you find this video helpful :)

If your white laminate is yellowed from a bleaching agent such as Clorox Clean Up, try using sterling silver jewelry cleaner. The yellow should instantly wipe away.

This is exactly how I fixed a nightmare without researching it years ago when I walked into my customer's house and layed a home Depot bag down on the wet white marble counter.2 hours later I needed that stuff that was in that bag and the counter said home Depot in bright red I was s******* a brick. I also used baking soda along with that but it took me 3 days to draw that out. Glad they were out of town.

Let me start out by saying YOU ROCK! I moved into a new place a month ago and bought some flowers, and put them in a vase on a white countertop. Their petals fell, and surprisingly stained the counter. I tried washing with water and scrubbing to no avail. I tried your solution, and I am very impatient so I actually put a piece of paper towel over it and soaked up most of the H202 like 30 mins later, and wiped away - stains were gone. You can use plain white vinegar in replacement for the hydrogen peroxide as well. Works wonders.

Perhaps, but you would likely end up neutralizing your baking soda. The reason hydrogen peroxide works on the stain is due to the release of the extra oxygen molecule from the hydrogen peroxide. Vinegar doesn’t have this extra oxygen molecule to do that and would release CO2 instead. Sorry to get all “sciency”. It’s just that there is a chemical reason why peroxide works. The vinegar isn’t really a substitute. :)

Be careful, depending on the material of your countertop. According to Google, "Stone surfaces, such as granite or quartz countertops, can become etched and damaged by the use of vinegar."

It worked like a charm. FYI I used baking soda + water and sat overnight but did not work - hydrogen peroxide worked within an hour and the stain is completely gone. I put a plastic wrap over the paste just to keep it moistened and this may accelerate the process as well. Thanks for your video!

Clorox Clean Up will remove stains on white laminate but yes it will turn it yellow. Once the stains are gone the yellow can be instantly wiped away using sterling silver jewelry cleaner.

Not sure. I don't think it would because bleach removes color. Maybe try leaving a dark stain on there and see if the granite absorbs it to darken the spot. I would google to see what stains work for granite. Maybe would try a tiny drop first wouldn't want to mess it up.

@@Davo198 Hi, thanks for writing back. Unfortunately, it seems the stain is permanent. I was able to find out what caused it, so if you have a recommendation, I'd be very interested. One of those plug in air fresheners had spilled and leaked on to the counter top. I tried putting Dawn straight on it to see if it would lift it, but either the stain was too old or Dawn was not strong enough as the stain remains. I also found out that I have a quartz countertop. Have tried: professional quartz cleaners, baking soda/vinegar/water combos, diluted bleach, other surface cleaners, Simple Green, and Dawn. A professional installer indicated it was toast and I would need to get a replacement. Hoping prices will come back down again some day, before replacing it.

Hello. Earlier in the video, you mentioned using the Clorox cleaner yellowed your counter. If so, were you able to get that yellow stain out. That is the issue that I have now. I used the Clorax and the same thing happened. New sub here. Watching in Hawai'i.

Hi Girl, so it's been a while but remember using the Sos sponge with " the works" toilet cleaner (wear gloves and mask) it's strong. Can't say for sure though it's been so long since I've had the laminate. Also the sos will scratch so be gentle if you try it. I would try it in a less visible area mayeb or super small spot to see if the toilet cleaner turned it blue because the last one I got turned some stuff blue LOL not sure if they changed there formula. It never did that before. Anywho.. not sure if this is helpful. Hope you can get it out. Lucky you!! Been dreaming of going to hawaii! PS. might be a good idea to ventilate the area and wear a mask I'm pretty sure the sos and toilet cleaner " the works " is toxic together I only ever used it together to get the worst stains out for me. " Maybe just the works alone will do it or sos alone.
