Thank you, James. Your method works for me. Before I pull them up, I poured dish soap around the cylinders, used thin plastic and scraped around the plugs. They both came out in no time.

Thanks, James! I literally used your trick with the jack to dislodge 2 severely stuck clean-out plugs tonight on an SX230 I just bought. I appreciate it, very helpful.

Good to hear, Something else I found to help me was to take out The plugs when you’re not using The boat and keep them lubricated

Worked perfectly. Replaced the bottom half of plugs and I'm all good. Thank you!

Thank you Thank you. Floor jack worked. Had to use a wheel strap chained to the jack instead of rope. Really tight. Set the jack on 3/4 plywood and a 2 x 6 on the tip.

I wrapped a dock line around the plug handle and used a jack handle for leverage to pull one up. Rubber side of the handle on the fiberglass.

I tried this and all it did was break the handle. We had a pry bar pushing down on the release button the whole time.
