@@Daks7.3garage for the cab swap? AC disconnect tools, torque wrench, impacts, larger metric sockets like 24 for the new bolts. An induction heater is useful.

Will I have to pull the dash like this to get the driver door power window harness out? Mine’s messed up from a previous owner and i want to take it out and rebuild it.
@GarrettsOBSGarage2 күн бұрын
Yes, you can sometimes get behind the dash by removing most of the bolts, but it really not worth trying to take the shortcut. You just end up fighting more stuff and hindering your room.

Great video. Do you happen to have a video of removing the rest of the hvac stuff from the cab ? How hard is that compared to taking the dash off .

I have a few videos up of installing it all. So it would be in reverse of that. It would kind of give you an idea at least. Check out Gary’s F350 playlist.

Quick question, why do you have to remove the tilt lever?
@GarrettsOBSGarage2 ай бұрын
To get the lower column cover off. To get the wiring off the column. You can do it without removing the lever, but it’s in the way to do it easily.

Can I swap an automatic dash over the another truck that's a manual and vice versa??
@GarrettsOBSGarage14 күн бұрын
Absolutely. The dash is the same. However the wiring is the point of change. If you use your original harness. You’ll have zero issues.
@jeffreyscribner31533 ай бұрын
Hi Garrett. Would you happen to have the wire harness in the dash to plug into the stock connectors to switch from manual windows to power? Basically the harness in this video
@GarrettsOBSGarage3 ай бұрын
The harness you’re looking for is part of the drivers door. It’s not a secondary harness. The drivers door plugs into the cab harness, and then also the passenger door. So, if you’ve got a truck and want to add power doors, buying the doors should give you everything you need. Unless you’ve got a 96 or 97, then you’ve also got to buy a cab harness.

Can the dash be removed and keep the truck running? Selling a dash out of a parts truck and need to make sure it still runs to move it around the yard
@GarrettsOBSGarage7 ай бұрын
Technically yes. The dash wiring must be installed for the truck to run, but not the dash itself.
@MarkWilliams-vp7xw5 ай бұрын
Can the steering column on an automatic be taken out in neutral? Or will I have to take it out in park and shift it to neutral manually after so I can roll the truck around
@GarrettsOBSGarage5 ай бұрын
You can do it either way. If you choose park, two clicks on the transmission lever gets you neutral.

Man. They really did make these trucks so that the average Joe could work on them. What modern car could you pull a dash out this easily?
@GarrettsOBSGarage2 ай бұрын

@@GarrettsOBSGarageI can’t seem to get the two firewall connectors out otherwise it’s been super easy lol
@GarrettsOBSGarage2 ай бұрын
@ the latches can give you issues sometimes. You’ve got to get them both. Then they get caught on the firewall insulation. Sometimes you can’t push them all the way in because of the aluminum brace, but you should be able to get them in enough that only the insulation becomes the issue.
