Buddy, keep doing what you're doing and you will make it big. I bought an E34 last week and I've been binging your videos. You have some serious potential. You clearly have passion, now all you need to do is keep going.

Josh, can't thank you enough for posting this series. I've been trying to figure a plan to perform this EXACT upgrade to my son's 1993 e34 525. The interwebs are full of great info, but there have been so many approaches to this project, it's been very difficult to pick a path forward. You've made everything so clear. If you were local to me, I'd pay you top $ to just do our project for us. Thanks again, this content has saved us months of work.

That airbag sticker is the funniest thing I have seen in a while. btw, sometimes using standard sockets instead of metric may get you a better fit with odd or stripped bolts. impressive tackling of that tranny, brah. you made pulling an engine look as easy as pressing an eject button.

Radiator clips holding it to the support.. use a flathead in the slot.. push down and away from you. The effect makes those clips detach from the lip that holds it.

Dude super excited for this swap. Btw Josh what trans are you using for the swap and is there a way to retain the auto trans or does it have to be a manual swap no matter what. Just asking because we have a 94 525. Have you also thought about ITB’s and if so would recommend them Josh?
@m3nameisjosh4642 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Im using a zf 5 speed because i prefer a manual. But the factory auto could stay in and bolt up no problem. ITBS would be cool, but id have to keep the s52 obd 2, however im going obd 1, would be pretty hard to tune itbs on a chip

Greetings from Michigan! Did you pry the fuel injector harness apart from the fuel rail or did you use a pic to release the clips from each injector? I’ve seen both ways. Good luck! Cheers, G
@m3nameisjosh4642 жыл бұрын
Sometimes i can just force it off, but in this case I used a small flat head to release the clips, didn’t want to break them

Appreciate your dedication, man. Turns out this playlist could prove very useful to me, as I want to get an E34 and swap it. But where I live I don't have access to an S52, only to an M52. But if I understand correctly, the swap process is the same for these engines? Thanks!
@m3nameisjosh464 Жыл бұрын
Yup pretty much identical swap!

@@m3nameisjosh464 Thanks for your reply. I guess there would be a few differences if I take a prefacelift 520i (m20b20) as a base. I'm thinking I'll need a new ECU, harness (which is also the case if you start with an M50 car apparently), sensors, a compatible gearbox... I've tried looking online for a tutorial but couldn't find a similar scenario to the one I'm looking at. I'm also considering converting the whole car to OBDII to facilitate tuning, but I'll have to find resources for that as it'll be my first swap... Anyway if I get an M50 car things look pretty straightforward thanks to your vids
