Didn't expect the removal of a 250+ year old floor to make me oddly emotional. To imagine what those floors have seen over the years... I know the renovation will breathe beautiful new life into the Convent, however - well done Billy and crew on all the hard work, as per usual!

With all the false ceilings installed over the years it was difficult to really get a picture of high the room will be. It's going to be quite an amazing space when it's done.

Amazing angles of view and the one taken from the ground floor of the debris field being dropped below (with mondo dust) was palpable. If I owned this building, I would construct apartments on the upper floors and use the first floor as a venue for conferences, retreat days, and weddings, which would make use of the chapel and kitchen.

I also watch a Restoration channel from Southern part of US. They’re working on a 1780 building ing in Natchez, Miss, and uncovered walls built using mud and the local hanging moss, called bouseillage. A kind of French technique.
