Soak the piston and cylinder bore with PB Blaster would be a fun test for future rusty projects.
@joemurchieАй бұрын
One of the things that makes this channel so good is your willingness to not give up on projects. I would have stopped when it got dark, then when the engine needed to come out to get the head off. That cantankerous, wont give up attitude is so entertaining. When the valves looked pretty good, I thought it wouldn't look terrible in the cylinder... boy was I wrong.
@user-MotoZhelezkiАй бұрын
Honda TL 250 is a very rare and interesting motorcycle! It would be great if you continued working on it. There is nothing terrible in the cylinder head, you just need to clean it. Perhaps the cylinder will have to be honed with a honing attachment. In these engines, due to lack of oil, the camshaft becomes unusable. Yours is in good condition, so we can assume that everything else is quite suitable for work! Good luck, dude! I would be happy to see the work on this motorcycle!
@Jools-j2lАй бұрын
Why not free it up and fix it?, I reckon its doable, heat the barrel externally, oil the bore allow it to seep past the rings, show us how skilled you are!

It's a job that could be completed, but for what? He has no interest in the bike so freeing up the motor doesn't make much sense.

you can get little led bulbs light up but resistor type bulbs just ground the ignition coil like a kill switch does. So use the kill switch as your power and try something with a few leds. You can attempt to fabricate a little coil and figure a way to attach it next to flywheel, charge a small li-ion battery and a led headlight, you still need a regulator. See on discount sites for a charging coil for mowers and garden engines which have electric start added to them as accessory. Cheap or just get the idea to fabricate one. Two holes on something with insulated copper wire wound around. Modify a guitar magnet :) Remember led is a diode not a resistance.
@Seansworld17Ай бұрын
Usually with the Hondas you have to remove the front mounts and loosen the rear through bolts the engine will kick forward and fall enough to slip the cylinder off the studs and still clear the frame. Maybe a rear bolt has to be removed but not all of them.
