+indyme2 My memory isn't the best. Most likely I'm not using that wiring but maybe it will help me with the new harness. I'll be back on the Camaro soon.

coming along nicely. I didn't strip my wiring harness to the degree you have in my chevelle but I downloaded a wiring diagram for my 69 chevelle and I found it helpful identifying the wiring by color and seeing where the wires all went to. I bet you could get a factory wiring diagram from the Camaro Forum. I picked mine up from the chevelle forum. Its great when guys post stuff like that to help others. Keep up the great progress Sam :)

+Cary Lamari Thanks for the info for the wiring. I'll order a assembly manual and see if it has what I need.

+Sam39;s Garage Sam an Assembly manual is always a good source to have however I bet if you did a search Camaro wiring diagram and print it out in color and enlarge it. Here is a 1977Camaro wiring diagramwww.bing.com/images/search?q=1977+camaro+wiring+diagram&view=detailv2&&id=E054CBA6F87CEE81F1FCA5DF063929F9F6B7C7BA&selectedIndex=0&ccid=MaEPzlk5&simid=608025722009685048&thid=OIP.M31a10fce5939cc2c8fa90526e0431404o0&ajaxhist=0

@@samsgarage2856 hello, I also have a 77 Lt. I was wondering if you had to remove the fender to remove the blower motor or ac vent from under the hood? Thanks

Good thinking on tagging the wiring harness. Have been digging into your videos here and there. You are doing an excellent job!

Slowed down a little lately working on it here and there. Hopefully I can start steadily working on it again. Thanks for watching.

I have a question for you how did you get the wiring out of behind the steering bracket that’s welded to the firewall.

I have a 77 z28 and the speedometer doesn't work. I'm thinking it's the wiring. All the other guages work. Any idea what it could be?
@samsgarage2856

The speedometer is mechanically driven by a cable. From the transmission to a gear box on the drivers side fender, then from the gearbox on the fender to the speedometer gauge. Mine had quit several years ago and the problem was the cable had frozen up. Replacing the cable fixed mine. Probably could disconnect one end and turn it with a drill.

How many spline is your stock power steering box ? I have a 1977 Z28 Camaro and I am replace the intermediate steering shaft and Rag joint, but there are so many variations of the rag joint - and the shop sent me the wrong one. So on the power steering gear box..... for the 1977 Camaro, how many counts are on the spline shaft going to the intermediate steering shaft?

Mine has splines and then a flat spot where there are no splines. 26 splines if you count the edges on each end of the flat. I hope this helps.

Sam, If you have any interest in selling the stock automatic shifter and associated linkage, let me know. My wife's 77 has a B&M Megashifter in it, she doesn't need or want a ratchet shifter. Please contact me & let me know. Thanks, Cyclops

Sorry but I find it hard for to bring myself to sell anything from the car. I definitely don't want to sell anything until after the car is finished.

+dwayne whitaker Me too. I'll have to do a lot of it too with the LS swap. Probably replacing the entire wire harness for the car.
