Rates of weekly church attendance and high school graduation are way up. They even have a less favorable view of tattoos and body piercings than prior generations. It may seem like they are liberal now, but people at that age are usually more liberal they tend to shift to the right as they get older. And by some studies Generation Z at their age is the most conservative generation since the Silent Generation. The only real measures that people use to say it is liberal anyway is that they are diverse and that they support same sex marriage and marijuana legalization, but those are libertarian positions too.

The problem with looking at the history of leftwing governments is that the only ones that survived were the ones that restricted people's freedom enough that the CIA couldn't assassinate. Maybe the US didn't stomp out any "pinkos" we would have actual same leftists, and not just Stalinists, Maoists and the rest. When any south American country elected a leader that promised to make American Companies have a fair deal, the CIA staged a coup. Since 1898, the US has been overthrowing any government that would not give them favorable trade deals. In Colombia, the Government had an agreement that in exchange for putting down a railroad, the company would have land grants. However, when the land became unfarmible due to disease, they burned down the plantation, left the railroad. The Colombians thought that because the railroads were not maintained, that the company was not holding up their end of the bargain, and they would like their land back. United Fruit Company disagreed and asked for US aid. They got it, and the government was overthrown.

This is what happens when you're sold on the great idea of socialism and communism and too lazy to research what really happened in the past. I know I'm probably preaching to the choir just wish the younger generation would wake up

Chris americans don’t have the the basic human rights like healthcare, housing and food.
@Chris-yn5vf5 жыл бұрын
emile roberge well there’s food stamps. But we have more freedoms at the end of the day. But your right about healthcare we need that right now. And most communist countries had mass murders and genocide. That’s why I got give Cuba some probs there less violent then other countries like them.
@emileroberge94595 жыл бұрын
Im not defending the disgusting mass murders during the soviet union under Stalin or communist romania and bulgaria which were brutal dictatorships, but i think an american can cannot disagree with those massacres if he’s ok when united states places fascists governments in countries around the world that commited and commit genocide to this day.

Kinda reminds me of Jean Ferrat's "le bilan" (could translate to "the end result" as well as "the bottom line", as it evokes the inanity of tallying millions of deaths against ideals).
