If I left my car unlocked, occasionally someone would go through it, but even then I only once had anything taken, and I left stuff in there all the time. Anywhere else in not Omaha you can basically leave your door unlocked. So it's not just an urban problem, it's a culture problem.

For anyone who clicked this thinking "Hunh?" I highly recommend Count Dankula's Mad Lads video on it. He tells it well, and with a sense of humor which was VERY hard to have at the time. I was a young teen living in Portland, OR at the time (and it wasn't a shithole yet then) but seeing what happened in LA was terrifying. Seeing what the Rooftop Koreans did was inspiring.
