The Cello sounds at the end where to simulate the seagulls in the original version, and the soccer (Footy) players are Ren's crew, he credited them comments section of the video, both clever touches, Ren mentioned it was the Cellists idea and he just threw it in when they where rehearsing

Love this. It’s a typical council estate - in every town over 1 3:26 00k in England. It’s a masterpiece - the council estate kids playing football would be wearing better trainers, and clobber, because outside is where you wear your best, but the vid needs to show they aren’t rich kids. I’d bet my car that’s the first time a string quartet played live there. Love your musical breakdown. ❤👍🏽👍☘️

Ren sang this live with the same string quartet at The Secret Garden Party festival, and first sang the last 2 lines from the original song there too. The guys playing soccer are Ren's friends. 😊

Doleys I learned are like the welfare office. The sliding on the instrument was intentional it came right as he said “we’re birds of a feather”, to sound like birds. Those were his friends in the background as well.

A thought struck me listening to this recently. When The Verve released Bittersweet Symphony they were sued by the Stones (??) for copy right breaches. Who would Ren have bought the rights off for this? The strings is a straight up from the Verve version, but did they pay the Stones? Hope that made sense
