He said in his twitch stream that this was written two years ago after he'd had a very bad day after a setback. He wrote the song in order express his feelings and get them out so he could move on. Very healthy way to deal with emotions.

What I hear as the underlying message... everything he names... All the external forces that tell you who you are, who you're supposed to be, what you're supposed to be, everyone and everything that tries to define you, pressures you to be defined by them. Be unapologetically _you_. Don't define others, don't be defined BY others

It’s what *I* get from it….but it’s wrong 😑 I missed REN’s post-release twitch stream, where I guess he said that he wrote this one when he was stuck in a dark place in his head and pushing against everything that was there to help him. That might be my favorite thing about Ren’s stuff…everyone walks away hearing something completely different, what they wanted or needed at the time. Even on tracks that have absolutely no deep meaning, are purely just for fun, I still see people relating them to much deeper things /and it works/

In my opinion, Ren writes from the soul without inhibition with whatever emotions he has at that time. One expression of his artistry doesn’t define him. I wish people would give him the space to make the music that needs to come out of him. As it is healing for us, he has also told it helps him cope. So why would we not accept his journey after he has given us so much

When you isolate the beat it sounds very much like EMPD "So what you sayin" that was sampled from B.T. Express's (If It Don't Turn You on (You Oughta Leave It Alone) break, i wonder if its a coincidence or homage to it, as its one of the best breaks ever in Hip Hop.

It *is* part of a bigger story, character arc, etc. The album "Sick Boi" is a concept album, in the style of, for example, The Who's "Tommy", Frank Zappa's "Joe's Garage", Rush's "2112", or Pink Floyd's "The Wall". With some bonus tracks.
