This song is very impactful. I have a 14 year old daughter who has an eating disorder and self-harms. She is stunningly beautiful but doesn't have the self-esteem to see it. Fortunately she is getting counselling to help her. Out of all of Ren's songs, this one hits with me the most.

Commercials too. Once advertising started in the nineteenth century, self-worth starts to be associated with the product almost immediately, although it was limited to newspapers and the sides of buildings. Fast-forward to today, and it is almost impossible to avoid, especially online, and advertisers are well aware that the young are particularly susceptible, and target them accordingly.

The ironic thing is that sonically this song could easily be played on the radio, but it wouldn’t be allowed because it’s just too real. We’re lucky to have someone like Ren who releases what he wants, when he wants. I’m glad he’s found enough success to keep going, both for him and for us all. 💜🎶

Great reaction! Ren masterfully tells us a scourge that seems inevitable in society; which, as you point out, has always existed, but now it is catapulted by social networks, which magnify everything, both the kind and the sinister of the human being. The way to tell it is in a catchy song that simmers and continues in a crescendo, ending with a small but important reflection. Thank you for your wonderful and emotional reaction. I suscribe.

A thoughtful and thought provoking reaction. Ren definitely 'bops' you in and makes you think - "Yeah, strong message - catchy hook - nice" and then he drops the hammer blow in the second half with a scenario we have *all* had some experience of in one way or another, and he masterfully strips everything down and laser-focuses your mind and does not let you off by simply finishing as he did. Genius, and SO impactful.

These Lyrics are just painfully true. I mean if you want to put your mood very far down ... listen to this song. But on the other side I love it. It is one of my most favorite songs of him. But it hurts every time. And even as a grown up man ... I almost cry every time I hear it because even though I am not a girl I can relate to the pain of not thinking to be enough and beautiful enough. And also the part where you buy stuff to get happy because you cannot get happy with yourself.

Like the CC hoodie. A friend of mine, Jeremy Turner, filled in on for their tour after Jack quit. Got to see them play and hang with George, Alex and Paul, and my buddy after a show in Lawrence, KS many moons ago before they left for the next gig. George is super cool. Talked football and gaming mostly. lol Jeremy has played with Origin and was a founding member of Unmerciful who he still plays with. Both bands from my hometown. My band's last album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Clint from Unmerciful. Was a good deal. We helped him finish building the studio in his basement and had, basically, unlimited time to work on the album. Anywho- I need to check out your metal reactions as well as Ren as I love many genres of music. All my best. Cheers.

There's a difference between beautiful and pretty, Beautiful is your character your integrity and morality, your heart and empathy for others, pretty is what they try to sell you as beautiful; anybody can be beautiful and most people are, pretty is something some people are just born with but that doesn't make them beautiful automatically; as a lot a just shallow and are a hollow shell of a human being.

It was always this way, yes. But there was only some people around you who may told you're you're "ugly" or "not enough". But in this social media day and age, there are hundreds and thousands outside who are just waiting to tell you're these lies within minutes . And that destroys people's life
