I hear that. For some reason I feel protective of Ren. Perhaps because he’s so openly shown his vulnerability. My favorite part of this is at the end when he states… okay I played it your way now let’s try mine. He’s articulate in showing sometimes extending an olive branch is the better option. I knew Ren entering the battle rap ring would be uniquely his style. Like you often say, Ren’s just different. He demonstrated that he can play the rap battle game - and even had fun delivering the punches 💥 🥊 but he would prefer to put down the facade and be real. The RENeffect is real. Since it is well known Ren was very thin at the height of his illness , clapping back calling Dotta fat is not out of line. You can’t reconcile if you don’t acknowledge the history and the damage that was done. You also cannot move on in a country that continues to be systemically racist - America is not some post-race utopia that most on the right would like to pretend rather than addressing the issue. Of course it’s very important to “move on” from black history, not teach in school but at the same time you memorialise Confederate “heroes” and we can’t touch that part of history /sarcasm.
