I am an atheist but I do believe in working collaboratively and with kindness for a better world for everyone, including the generations that follow us. I respect the views of others to have their faith and beliefs and I will not rank these. What gives a person comfort and purpose is important and should be protected. Because I believe when I die I will not exist is a comfort to me and gives me purpose to try to do good each day I live. Ren helps me reflect and connect and it is great that this diverse community joined by his talent, insight and ability to share brings joy and further meaning. Thanks Red. Ren may not be a theologian but he most definitely a philosopher with a talent of holding a mirror up to ourselves. Like so many who have suffered, he has been through hell and knows the power of the light, hope and how each of us can find acceptance, healing and can be a beacon to others. More people are waking up every day to their true selves. Yes, there are times when the world can make us feel small and powerless, but nothing could be further from the truth. A raindrop may not do much, but enough of them together can move mountains 🙂

Lovely summary, like you said, there's a lot/too much to unpack here. The humanity, your love thy neighbour, a will to do better are good summary points. Having been on an incredible Ren journey, I love how lyrically, his messages pop up in previous songs, for example, this Sick Boi lyric almost appearing here word for word: "we are standing on a cliff In the name of progress, we jump off the precipice". Whereby, in the 2nd half of that song, Ren aligns his mental health struggles with man's destruction of the planet. The positive messaging towards the end was uplifting, especially the busking clips! I keep pinching myself thinking that prior to March this year, I'd never heard of him!

Born and raised Christian. I have watched all around me for 68yrs. Love thy neighbor can be so varied and faked and gained and lost. What is harder and far more needed is Acceptence. Accepting totally anything different than self is far better and more powerful then love. In my opinion even You with your belief system would find it hard to just Accept, that which does not think, look, act or Believe like you do. Good luck in your life.

Yes, he does leave elements of chrstianity behind, this is a story.. Lucifer is never meantioned in the bible.. meantions of "morning star" are of planet venus.. brightest "star"... Satan is misstranslation of "someone in opposition of God".. therefor every mention of him might be different person.. he speaks about falling of lucifer which is made by creator out of revelations whose writing was considered heretical about 1500 years ago.. Even tho some of his writing is still in the bible. There exists about 0.85 more of a bible which are redacted by catholic church on later date removed.. moderny they are readable.. those used to be in, but....... you make up your own mind. These include terms like what happens if angle has a child with human.. those stories do not exist in modern bible, they exist on stories removed from the bible more than a millenia ago and ppl still claim it to be 1 true word of god while it is just twisted words of catholic church.

Have seen a number of reactions to this now and the main thing I have taken away from them all is that this is classic Ren at play. This may be in a slightly different form than usual but it has the same desired effect that Ren always strives for - he makes you think, question and challenge what you believe and provides a platform for discussion on a serious subject. Whether you agree or disagree with him, you will learn something at least. Think there also needs to be a big shout out to the one or two guys (along with Ren) from his very small super talented friends and team, who put this whole video together to match Ren's vision. I believe they were working on this night and day to an extremely tight deadline and only got this to it's finished state about an hour ahead of its scheduled live release as part of the whole Money Game that Ren ran a number of weeks ago.

I agree with many of your points here, but all religion is open to interpretation. I personally believe as Ren said here. God put the Tree there as a test, but not a test of if they were worthy of his love, but a test of if they were ready to leave the Garden. He made them immortal, knowing full well that, given infinite time, it was a certainty that they would eat from it eventually.

As an aside, the greatest travesty in the history of humanity was Eve sharing the Fruit of Knowledge with adam. She should have kept that to herself and her daughters alone, keeping us men well and firmly at heel, and we wouldn't I'll be in the horrid mess this planet and its species are in. I have always and will always believe that.

Totally! For a while, corn syrup was in everything. It’s still in a lot. It hasn’t been fully proven, but I can’t imagine that people eating too much is the only reason why so many have problems with their weight.

Absolutely close. But it isn't just for syrup, it is sugar, of which there are like 90ish names for, and it is in almost everything. Add to sugar and ultra processed carbohydrates the fact that we eat almost all the time, all day, and we have ourselves a problem. Explore the metabolic dysfunction called insulin resistance to truly understand it. Insulin is a fat storage hormone, obesity is a hormonal disorder. When we eat too often, or too much sugar and carbohydrates, our insulin (fat storage hormone) is always turned on. So many illnesses are attached to it: heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer and multiple immunity issues. The Obesity Code, by Dr Jason Fung may be the best starting point to understand how absolutely destructive and deadly the recommendation of a low-fat diet has been to us. It is estimated 75-80% of yearly hospital visits are to treat illnesses directly linked to insulin resistance.

In any religion based on the Abrahamic teachings the belief is that god is...... *omnipotent (all powerful), *omnipresent (everywhere), *omniscient (all knowing), *omnibenevolent (all loving). Therefore god knows everything past, present and future, god already knows who is going to believe who isn't going to believe (and has the power to change it but doesn't (*omnipotent)), in the Abrahamic belief system there is no free will. You may wake up in the morning, go in the kitchen and instead of making a coffee you decide you are going to have a cup of tea, you may believe that you made a choice out of free will to have tea instead of coffee, but god already knew you would have tea that morning (thats what *omniscient means) , god has know since the dawn of time that you would choose tea and therefore you had no choice but to have that cup of tea. What the Abrahamic religions gives you is the impression of free will, not free will in actuality. There is no problem with faith/belief, faith/belief can make people grow and share, become more charitable and caring, can give people reasons to go on and to help other people to grow as well, the problem is organised religion, anyone who follows a doctrine of belief that dictates not only what that faith/belief must be and how that faith/belief must be followed/displayed and then separates its'self by drawing lines between other faiths and beliefs creates a division between peoples something an *omnibenevolent being such as an Abrahamic god would be wholly against! Organised Religion gives people the excuse for division (what gives religion the right to set boundaries on god if that god is *omnipresent), for causing harm to others in the name of doing "their" god's work, for downgrading and denigrating others to raise themselves in their own eyes as being superior because they have chosen the right god in the right religion and everyone else is wrong.......... Have faith, have belief and do better for your self and those around you, not because some dogmatic religion tells you to, but because you choose to, that would be following the true teachings of Abraham. F religion..... just be good/do good because you choose to using your own Free Will.

We must remember religions are created by those in power, who have influence, etc. Genesis teaches knowledge is bad because; an educated public is a threat to those in power, so attacking knowledge, praising blind faith, being an unquestioning member of a flock who blindly follows the leaders of the religion, etc, all are ways for those in power to stay in power. This is why we have come full circle and are back to rhetorical being the language of politics, organized religion, of advertising, etc. Organized religion is answering with an even more complex mystery, and has successfully convinced so many to abandon their capacity for logic, reason, and internal ethics. By convincing the faithful a better existence exists in the afterlife, in reincarnation, etc, devalues this existence as I have had so many of the faithful tell me to not worry about this world, as God will fix everything, the afterlife is what matters, etc. There are good people of faith; but January 6th, the MAGA movement, the GOP, and Trump shows how powerful politicians using religion can manipulate the masses.

From my understanding The beginning of this story is basically the retelling of adam, eve, and lucifer in the garden. Yet the deception wasnt the issue. And there is not in fact deception from anyone, but god, lucifer has free will and had a task, god didnt know he had free will and exposing adam and eve to it gave rhem a sense of what they wanted, desired. To me where it stands out the most. "God wanted more" and this makes sense, and yet Why would GOD "desire" though? THAT question makes the rest of this make more sense towards gods "all knowing nature" and how god ("wants") an emotion he didnt make intentionally. He breathed it into existence meaning, from himself. Thats why the 7 are called cardnial sins. God created them understood them i dont believe he curses us to damnation other than this planet. I dont believe in the bibles interpertation. Never have. Im going to comment as i go through this with you. Edits here and new comments altogether. Im closer to an omnist than agnostic. So why didn't Eve protect Adam? God is a word, there is no reason to think he has no questions or human traits when we supposedly are created in his image... because someone told you so? If I brought all the technology from now back to ancient Mesopotamia I'd probably be considered a God too... this doesn't mean I have magical powers... Blindly believing a singular interpretation of the text (which has changed hundreds of times since it was written) I'm not religious, but I think all religious texts are valuable insights into the minds of our ancestors and that I respect wholeheartly, but the dogma is what (personally) puts my back up.

@@redheadedneighbor Yes wholeheartedly agree regarding greed. It is destroying the planet and by extension ourselves, both physically and mentally in terms of us. It may be a morbid view but I think humanity is on a rapid downward spiral and we need to change radically. I won't be around for it but what I fear is failed revolution, of the kind a red tie wearing fool represents not to get political. Any revolution that pits us against each other is a coup. Wholesale reform of capitalism with far stricter controls and proper safety nets for the poor and vulnerable. And any one who thinks Ayn Rand is right needs putting in a safe place. THINK ABOUT THIS. Who taught you about God? People who pointed you to the Bible? A book compiled by people. Much was removed, the stories manipulated to form a seamless holiness which you're not allowed to question. Who told you that, people? Names were changed and narratives moved of what is left in what we call our Bible. So I went and study theology. To get my head around it was not easy as people lied and lied and so from podiums I churches. The truth is out there if you seek to look for it, God is real but not like you might think. Jesus (not his real name by the way) was real and his teachings eye opening if you really care to look. The Bible should be questioned and especially so is search of God. Lies in the Bible are as often as in the world. That can't be right? Matthew wrote Jesus was taken as a child to Egypt and stayed there till Herod's death. Yet Herod died after Jesus death, or so it is written in Acts. Which is one simple example of hundreds if not thousands. Who wrote the Bible and why and when? When was the gospels written and by whom as most authors(indicated in Bible) were unable to read or write? There is much much truth to the Bible but sadly the truth for most part is totally lost from it. Have you ever read something God wrote? No is the answer. I'm a believer in God, but it's more complicated than the religion curated by people. Start questioning and search, and you will find the answers.
