Yeah, although curiously sometimes people who thought he was dead and that he was his own twin brother living with his brothers wife, seemed to forget that. For example after his fake execution René had Lieutenant Gruber referre to Madame Edith several times has René´s wife, like he knew that he was not a twin. But then a few episodes later he still got spooked two times when he confused René with the ghost of his dead twin brother, showing that in fact he still believed René was his twin brother and that he had shot the first one. That´s a bit inconsistent. Also there is the matter of the Gestapo headquarters. In the first season it was located beneath the Chateaux, has we see when René and Edith disguise themselves has german officers to deliver a fake painting of the "Fallen Madonna with the Big Bobbies" to Herr Flick, and yet in later episodes the Gestapo Headquarters seems to have magically moved to a door next to the Nouvion's main square, like we see in the épisode where colonel Vonstrom, lieutenant Gruber, Captain Bertorelli and his italian men break into Herr Flicks office by blowing the door next to the town square. And by the way we never found out what happened to the Cucu Clock, almost like the writers themselves forgot about it.

I absolutely loved this series. While living with my parents we religiously watched Allo Allo. To this very day I answer the phone when my parents phone, in my best french accent. (quite ordinary actually), "Good Moaning...". BBC Comedy, I love it.
