Ren being independant Artist is more acceptable in the underground tubes.. The mainstream in UK ain't really playing him on radio even when he got no1 Album.. They played the one song that sounded acceptable to ones ears Uninvited.. It's a crime but I feel honored to have found him.. We are all very lucky to see his journey ❤️✌️

He doesn't make clean/dirty versions of anything - it's all what it is. Big labels pay radio stations for regular plays to boost sales, that's the carve-up really !

That's because the BEST MUSIC is too good for the radio! The radio usually sticks to very gimmicky songs/artists who are GOOD.. but they don't have that IT factor the way artists like Ren have! He's quite literally god tier! ONE of ONE!

Everytime you spot "Retake" in the title it is a cover/reimagination of a tune. In this case he used a Loosing It from Fisher who is a EDM artist, but it got expanded on brilliantly.

Yeah I realized that when I went to play this song in the car yesterday after recording the reaction for it. I looked up "REN LOSING IT" on Apple Music and the only thing I found was the instrumental only version by Fisher.

@@Mista808 He can't monetize any of the retakes/bootlegs on account of copyright and labels - they were just made for fun and to get his name out there/showcase his talents. You can stream/play all this stuff through KZbin music, but not Spotify, iTunes etc.

If you want to introduce your Hip Hop friends to Ren, I’d start with Halftime Nas Retake (it’ll be more in tune to US Hip Hop ears) as a bridge to the next Hip Hop track which crosses over and merges UK/US rapping styles - Castles Made Of Sand. He did a crazy job on this one. Fisher headlined Coachella a few years ago and had his own weekly night in Ibiza this Summer (along with DJ'ing regularly in Vegas/Miami etc.). The underlying beat (though very simple) was a massive EDM club hit. The pinned lyrics are full of bars and film/cultural references, some UK-centric (e.g. Kaiser Chiefs are a UK group who had a hit called Ruby). For a club banger he made which wasn't a retake check out 'Down on the Beat' (ft. Viktus).

One of the best things about being an independent artist is that the record executives aren't pushing you to be pigeonholed to one demographic for sales. Ren is diverse as his fans and it's always about the art and not ratings. Great reaction 👏 would highly recommend "The Hunger" as is another older banger.

He does deserve it, but he doesn't have the music industry behind him. Unfortunately his illness is mostly to blame. He was discovered and had a contract just before he got ill, but he was too ill to finish an album and it all fell through. He also can't tour. I think it's great he's independent though. He can do whatever he likes.
