Love your reactions! I saw a comment from Ren a while back in response to someone accusing him of taking the idea from 'This is America'. It's near the top, in the thread right after the Money Game lyrics when you have it sorted by Top Comments: "This is america is about systemic racism in America, Money game (which I wrote in 2016) is about the monetary system and how it influences behaviour and what I personally feel is backwards ideology on migrants, so I can assume you've drawn the parallel with the videos. I kind of get it a man in a hostage mask at the start of his video (which is great vid btw )and a man in a hostage mask in my video, In all honesty, if your gona point fingers and blame me for plagarism, i actually took most my inspiration from Quentin tarantino's resivoir dogs ear scene. I can see similarities in a brief moment in Childish gambinos vid like the gun to the head and the aesthetic, but this is a live theatre piece, where im interacting with a hostage throughout a video, where he pops up for a few seconds in the other vid then his video goes somewhere completley different. Even if on a subconcious level I was inspired by the hostage on a chair image, its hardly plagarism lol"

Ren is so talented. He is also very well informed, well educated, and he is brilliant in how he explains what is happening in the world that anyone can understand! His understanding of so many topics, politics and economics in this video, is terrific and a child could understand his explanation because he explains everything so well. Ren is a genius. Dude, you're a legend!!! I've watched all of your Ren reactions, and never noticed the Rush poster on the wall!!!! Rush has been my #1 band since the late '70's. A full analysis on the music video for Pt. 1: The kidnapped individual was a 'defendant' in a 'trial' with the psychotic Ren accusing him and acting as Judge/Jury/Executioner. Ren's character, through the song, goes on to explain the individual's crime: being part of a money game - a twisted game where people are divided and suffering for the sake of wealth. People who are willing to exploit their peers get ahead, and other are forced to do bad things for survival. Each time he gets close to exacting punishment and killing his victim, he stops to continue explaining more ways we twist our lives for that wealth. He even symbolically draws eyes on the head sack to signify that the victim isn't blind to it: the captor has 'opened his eyes'. He has no excuse and deserves this punishment of death. Finally, with one final attempt to do the deed, Ren's character realized the futility of what he's doing. Looking in the mirror, as per the lyrics, he is also part of the money game. And so, he puts aside his holier attitude and burns himself to death instead. As he said, as assuredly as the whole world turns while playing this game, the whole world burns as well.

Pt 1 is all live, one take. You can hear the ambient noise in the parking garage location. That's Romain Axisa (in The Big Push) under the sheet playing the guitar. Stunning. Pt 2 - genius. And isn't that just the hookiest hook of all hookery in these two songs? It haunts my mind. For years I basically believed in the power of govt to ultimately work for the good of the people. I no longer do, as things currently are configured. I think there still are individuals who aren't corrupt and do try, but they're overrun by the vast majority of greedy bastards just in it for themselves. These corrupt lowlifes are not held to account for their corruption, and if that doesn't happen, it ultimately destroys a country/govt and a culture.

Ren is the best thing to happen to music since Michael Jackson & even though stylistically they may differ I think Ren's talent is on the same caliber of creative genius (minus the dancing) with equal level of artistry. MJ used his music to bring light to hard hitting facts & questioned the whole system. Ren is calling out greed, corruption, racism, hate, environment destruction, poverty, and health issues through music just like Michael...MJ was known for extended film like music videos to poke the bear and put focus on the power abuse. The difference... MJ had an unlimited budget and industry support behind him. Ren is calling out the exact same issues MJ did, with the same skill and truth in his messages that are intricately weaved in long film like videos all with close to zero budget and are mostly performed Live. The sad truth is this also highlights that we are no better off than we were 25 years ago. Think Earth Song, Black or White & Man in the Mirror.... Anyone remember when Black or White premiered? Nov 1991 on Fox right after the Simpsons, 11 minutes of Please stop hate, and let's stop separation/racism. People lost their minds...Nobody could get over dance he did at the end lyrics and message were ignored... Can you imagine If the full Money game was to premiere now in 2023? Good lord, people would lose their minds all over again over the pretending to set himself on fire and ignore the 5 minutes of facts in the song.
