I know why many people despise "mainstream" stuff in general. Because it changes what things used to be to maximize profits. Always. Thank you two for giving us a song that is what hip hop and music in general should be. Something real and tangible, something to identify with, to lean on and to learn from. True culture. And thanks for the breakdown. Also: Well wishes for the brother Ren who isn't feeling well right now and is resting at home. Hope you will get well soon. We love you.

Hi Knox, this song touched me. I lost my little sister in 2011 to a prescription medication overdose. She was working as a CNA studying to be an RN. She had PCOS and Hoshimoto's, so she was pretty heavy. She started having issues with her knees and back. Ultimately, we determined that she had seen 2 doctors and the doctors didn't get a full history of meds from other doctors. The tox. showed that she was just barely over the therapeutic limit. The ME said it probably took her about 12-15 hours to slowly slip away in her sleep. That's the only solace I have; knowing that she was asleep. It is so important to grieve. Don't hold it back. I didn't allow myself to grieve for many reasons. And now I'm stuck in Delayed Grief, so I feel it every day. Lastly, to Knox and whoever might need to hear it... Grief is the greatest expression of love. Someone told me that after my sister died and it pissed me off. Once I had some space from it, I found that it's so true. For ANYONE reading this. Addiction isn't something to be ashamed of. You aren't alone. I started going to a peer support group for mental health (and let's be honest... mental health is the cause for the addiction in the first place). Look up NAMI.ORG The National Alliance on Mental Illness. There, you can see if there is a peer support group in your area. Going to these groups and seeing from my peers that I'm not alone, made such a huge difference in my life. In the States, you can call or text the suicide hotline 988. You don't have to be suicidal. They will talk to you no matter what it is. You can call a Peer-Run WARM Line 1-866-400-6428. This is mostly for the state of Virginia, but they will speak to you regardless of where you are. Lastly, there is AA.ORG solely for addiction. There is no need to suffer in silence. You aren't alone. You just have to find the strength to ask for help. I love you! Yes... YOU.

Amazing song. I’m one of REN’s chronic pain warriors. I was prescribed opioids and have now been on oxy for almost 20 years. I’ve got mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I now have this addiction to deal with. But, on the other hand, oxy works. It keeps my pain under control so I can function. But I feel that there must be something else I could have done or taken that would have helped, without the addiction/OD potential of opioids. Great song, Knox. I’ve had the hook running in my brain for days now. ❤ I’m so sorry about your cousin.
@AuntDana7
@AuntDana7 Ай бұрын
Same here with your comment. The oxy train when docs bandaid instead of fixing the issue. I found the comment from Knox "for something as simple as back pain" grated on me a little. Back pain isn't simple in every sitch and shouldn't be down played bc if my back pain was simple my life would be a lot simpler and I would be able to do daily tasks but I can't. I don't know if "you" could have done something different. You tried to get help and you were given relief. Its a tough one especially when other meds don't take the pain away. However the tolerance built over the years gets frustrating if the doc won't help. Sorry for the novella of a comment. I just felt this one. ✌️

Knox, from the very few reactions I've been able to watch, because this video hit me hard coming out while my mom was in rehab, you have created a beautiful song that is hitting people, making an impact, and shedding light on a subject not often discussed in this way. This song is so relatable and you don't have to be a rap fan or a Knox fan or a Ren fan to get this message. Amazing song, Knox. I'm so sorry about your loss. Hopefully your song and your cousins story will find the ears that need to hear it and save lives. ❤❤

First I wanna say Congratulations on your album. I know many blood, sweat, and tears went into it. Now, I want to say so sorry about your cousin. I get it. My brother started out on pain pills for back problems, but over the years his use grew and grew, and he tragically ended up on Fentanyl. He fought so hard to overcome the addiction, but in the end the addiction led him to clinical depression. He tried so hard for his family and friends, but couldn't fight anymore and took his life. Man, I miss my brother. R.I.P. to your cousin. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I've watched many reactors reacting to this and say they had not thought about medications from a doctor being addictive and what their prescribing as being the gatway drugs leading to someone becoming an addict, and that this song has changed their point of view. This is a clear indicator that this song is changing opinions. It's making more people willing to listen before making judgments. You've done your cousin proud and made sure his death wasn't in vain. All the best to you and your's moving forward 💕

Yeah, everyone I personally know that has died from opioids started at their doctor or dentist’s office on oxy, hydrocodone or morphine. Every single one except one eventually died from fent, whether it was a legit prescription or street laced stuff when the government thought it’d be great to start encouraging doctors to cut off long time patients, forcing them into the streets. Unfortunately the death toll has been high. 💜
@Sunshiningme-jj9of
@Sunshiningme-jj9of Ай бұрын
@@denalindethe government encouraged doctors to cut off long term patients? When? Why? To what end?? I'm a chronic pain patient. Several autoimmune that are extremely painful. Eventually, years later, I was given an installed pump to deliver the pain meds. It contained fentynal. One day out of the blue I received a call from my doctor's office from their new office manager. She said I had missed too many appointments and I was costing the practice too much money. Bottom line: I was not allowed to come back to the practice. I had not missed any appointments. Ask any pain patient, you do not miss your refills, trust me. When I said this she said it didn't matter I just couldn't come back. And then she hung up on me. I did not have access to any other doctors and went through a detox that almost killed me. I have not had any pain killers for over three years now bc I choose to live in pain rather than risk going through anything like that ever again. So , now I need to know what you're talking about. I'll do my research but I would love to hear from someone who knows about this personally and could fill me in on what really happened from a perspective other than the one dictated by the government to the media. You know what is published is very rarely the entire truth. My brain is spinning. Thank you for putting this out there. Hopefully my mystery is about to be solved. 😃❤️🙏

Your collaboration with Ren and the rest of your crew Knox made this so truth telling! How addiction takes life from the innocent in this generation. A doctor needed to stop prescribing Oxy that led to my friend’s 28 yr. old daughter to a Heroin addiction. She hooked up with an already dead beat dad of four children, they stole together, got prison terms (she being pregnant) and by a miracle of her going to jail, her baby girl was born fine. Not all babies born to addicts have this outcome.

Hey Knox, Just wanted to say because of this song I'm now subbed. I've been watchin' your reaction vids for a while now and this hits so close to home. I haven't subbed until now for purely one reason tho... Honestly, I couldn't figure the shit out at first nor know the importance of analytics. At any rate, I'm subbed now. My cousin passed a few months ago due to Fentanyl. He was an ex marine with a terrible terrible back story from over seas. To sum it up, he was the last remaining member of his unit whom all took their own lives. Which is very sad due to their situation. I tried to help him. I found he was living on the streets in Cali so I offered him a shower and a roof and job opportunites. Things just didn't work out the way I had hoped. I tried my best though, because he was family AND he served our country. What more praise can you give then that? Anyways, I was unable to help him fully, in which case I'm feeling a kind of way about that. Not sure if I'll ever get over it. I myself am honestly to guys like you and the rest of the world is just another brick in the proverbial wall. Matter of fact, I'm merely a small piece of said brick. I'm a musician also, and I do all styles and have had for years, Ren was the first person I've seen to switch it up. Props to you both for your efforts and your lyrics. I would totally buy your album as well as Ren's but I'm broke lol I have 524 songs to my name ranging from rap to friggin polka I like all styles and appreciate artists putting themselves out there. I did at one point but an injury took me out of the game. Broke my back a few times and now I have been unable to grace the studio and stage again. It's not something I like, because music is life. its the best way to express and to let shit out so you don't go and do things that you will regret. Currently myself, I'm on a ton of medication from muscle relaxers to pain meds from morphine to codone. I hate them all, but I found if I try to not take them, I can't even get out of bed let alone live a normal life. Still, sorry for the back story, just wanted u to see where I was coming from and why I appreciate your music and Rens music so much. Mad respect to you both for sure mayn. I hope everything in your life succeeds and you keep on keepin' on bro. I'll just be the dude quietly sittin' in a dark corner somewhere just jamin' on my guitar and appreciate those with more guts than me :)

My dream collab came true in this song and I am greatfull that it was in a song that mean so much to you Knox ❤ The pain in your words, voice and eyes are raw and I can feel it through you. Please Knox, try to let go of the guilt, do not burden your heart with something you can not change. It was out of your hands "and (you) must not forget, that we are human beings".❤ Yes, you and Ren made a hit and with this important message its going to raise the awareness and help save lifes. Your cousin may have died in vein but his death will not have been, your tribute with this song gives it a purpose ❤

Knox, this song, for all the differences in topics, this is your Money Game trilogy in a condensed form. It condenses something we know but don't articulate to ourselves. A double that hasn't been discussed, which hit me immediately, was the double of hollow tips... hollow tip bullets will rip someone apart, literally. Hollow tips--the needles used in syringes--are killing people when they deliver all the street drugs that are the root of the problem. The is such a powerful track. I'm so sorry for the loss of your cousin Knox, but you have created an amazing memorial to him. The fact that Ren helped bring this to life is a credit to your friendship. So much love.
