It’s so good that the Sony deal didn’t work out ( bar the illness), but it gave him time to develop as an artist. They’d have pushed the band towards Busted pop, and then Shreeran style solo - artists need time and freedom.

I was SO excited to find out that The Hunger was gonna be on the Sick Boi album. I found Ren in March of this year and as I started to discover his music, I didn't realize this one was gonna be on the album until he released the track listing last month or whatever. Genesis, too, but I actually like The Hunger way more than I like Genesis (which, don't get me wrong, Genesis is amazing, but it doesn't touch The Hunger for me and The Hunger's the "old" one I was most overjoyed to see was gonna be included on the album). Yay!

Ash, My understanding is thatall of Ren's sick Boi songs were recorded in 2021 and 2022. The ending Section of "The S" song and For Joe are new. Hi Ren is actually newer than all of these songs, and was put out not long before he went to Canada to start his treatments.

If you compare music as Lego bricks, most chart music is made using one/perhaps 2 different bricks on every track they do. Ren has the full set and creates often brilliant structures, at the least they are 1st class. Also he cheats a little by making his own bricks instead of going to the Lego store. I guess that is a good reason to stay independent
