Great reaction McFly. Hearing this after hearing all of Ren’s ‘Chapters’ made me cry when I heard it in his premiere. I suffer from CFS, so understand some of his struggle, but haven’t gone through anywhere as much deep physical pain as Ren has, but my 40s were hell. Ren’s needing to feel, I completely identify with. What you said about Ren supporting others is so true. His message is very profound for me and the fact that he has his life back for the most part makes me overjoyed. The medical industry is not making strides in the field of ME/CFS anywhere near as much as it should have. The research is so limited, but countries like Norway, Belgium and the UK are at least trying. Diagnosis of Lyme disease is getting slightly better awareness in recent years, thanks to Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber amongst others helping to lift the profile, but in Europe there a far fewer cases than in the USA/Canada and so GPs and family doctors often don’t test for it when people present with symptoms and then the window to mitigate it goes and people are left struggling like Ren.

I was unaware of the contributions in Lyme awareness that TS and Bieber have had. I will look into this. I think both of them as good people so it makes sense.

You made a good point about the amount of work Ren himself puts into each song. Even on the beat here, a lot of the percussion-type noises are vocalizations by Ren. Thanks for the reaction.

@@mcflyjp I'm not a musician, but I love watching musicians react to Ren. I've even heard some musicians who don't even like Ren's stuff say that he's really good at what he does. Pretty sure that since he's feeling somewhat better now, he's working pretty hard to produce music that he's been hearing in his head for years. Thanks again.

His psychosis was caused by an immune reaction to a fecal transplant, extreme pain and bitterness spiraled him out. A course of penicillin which he lied to obtain, brought him out if it . Ren broje apart an old TV and took a knife sized puce of glass and stabbed himself in the chest and dragged it across. This is all in tbe Chapters #4 and #6.

Yes I liked the full song especially with the vocal sample of Vera Hall, a 1940s gospel singer, "Oh lord, troubles so hard, no one understands them other than God" and at the end you were correct that's what he did with "high modulazation and filters to make the beat with the same vocals. With my situation medically and otherwise, my words are, "I, have only, one castle, it's my soul. Damages, in separate rooms. Rebuilt with strength, faith and glories, that I have found, along the way" Aviar Savijon 2024.

Always enjoy your reactions. My interpretation of the "kiss of cold steel" is that you are able to finally take control of what you are feeling and be the cause of it rather than not having any control of what is happening to you.

so far the best breakdown of this very important song.I WATCHED ALL 8 CHAPTERS AND DID IT EVER EXPLAIN IN VIVID COLORS WHAT HE WENTTHROUGH. oops caps on, . . I was comforted to finally get it explained in such detail.. until now we had to use our imaginations to fill in the picture. what a gift he is to the people that need him, care for him and love him. he should be nominated for the Nobel peace prize, as i am quite sue he has saved more lives than some of the organizations rhat have recieved it.

Also: the release was timed to coincide with ME Awareness Week, the hashtag is #MillionsMissing. You may have referred to that near the end, but I figured I'd spell it out clearly for others in the hopes that it might bring a sliver more awareness. Ren went missing - the lyric for sure refers to how he lost himself in the pain and chaos and fear, but also, it's how people with ME and many other interminable chronic illnesses talk about how they disappear from life. Life goes on for everyone else while they are abandoned and forgotten as though they'd died.
@MissMeKate
@MissMeKate 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for drawing attention to the awareness he is trying to raise. It has been dispiriting sometimes that a lot of people have been quite protective of Ren's story (understandably) and didn't quite connect to the whole reason he put it out there at this time being to coincide with Millions Missing and help all the people still struggling.
@rebeccaburnell9319

@@MissMeKate I feel like people must be rolling their eyes to see me bring it up in so many comment sections but rather than let the discomfort of worrying what others might think about it stop me, I just suck it up and say it anyway where no mention of #MillionsMissing has been made by others, because it's important on its own and it's surely important in anyone's discussion of the track! Other than in comments sections about Ren's music, I'm far more in contact with the Long Covid community than the ME/Fibro/Lyme community (though of COURSE they intersect and are enmeshed, since you can end up with ME/POTS/MCAS/etc from Covid and people with more serious Long Covid are a part of the chronic illness community who go missing from life), and more and more people get added to that list with every day since public health has given up on community spread and vaccination only reduces your odds of getting Long Covid (and fewer and fewer people are keeping on top of staying usefully boosted) and you roll the dice on Long Covid with every Covid infection, including mild cases and even the occasional asymptomatic case. (Asymptomatic cases making up at least 15% of all Covid cases, and possibly as many as 50%... studies are still returning conflicting information and I don't have an adequate background in science to weigh them against each other and make claims in public about it lol) I don't have Long Covid myself; I'm a hermit always-masker living below the poverty line on Disability so it's super easy (given those things) to limit my exposure to sharing air. My adult daughter has some Long Covid symptoms best described as "inconvenient" I guess, but that 100% doesn't stop SARS-CoV-2 from doing further damage with her next infection or the one after that or the one after that, causing an awful lot more disruption to her life. Every bit of exposure we can find to bring awareness of debilitating chronic illnesses is so important, even if the causes are unknown/symptoms don't all line up together/whatever. We (as a species) have to learn how to take better care of each other. ❤️

@@rebeccaburnell9319 Thank you for helping be a voice for those struggling, just like Ren. ❤️ I am heartbroken for all the Long Covid sufferers. If the world had funded M.E research there's a good chance we could have prevented the mass disablement of so many previously healthy people by better understanding why some people's bodies never recover from viruses etc. It should never have come to this. I hope your daughter's symptoms fade with time. ❤️

With great power comes great responsibility, and Ren is truly a hero! He is using his growing powers and platform for so much more than simply creating brilliant music. Ren has said that he always had this feeling that he was meant to change the world for the better. So much that he defiantly yelled a challenge to evil into an empty room. And then he got sick… Ren has now shared the full story of his health journey in 8 video chapters leading up to the release of this song and what a journey it has been. If anyone hasn’t already watched them, I highly recommend you do. With all the chapters he is showing immense strength in sharing his story that is so hard to tell, being vulnerable and telling it because he hopes it will help others and raise awareness. And here he is with another rendition of that story, now told through music with a fire beat and delivering a message of hope. A beautiful hero that the world needs ❤️🐰🕳️

Spot on! Ren said that all the drugs he was on and the Lyme disease inflammation in his brain caused him to start believing that there was a matrix-style conspiracy after him. He thought he was being monitored, so he’d act differently to throw them off. Finally, he went into full blown psychosis. I think of that period when he says the line “conjured up superstitions.”

The state of the medical field here in the states at least (it's all I know) is really backwards. The country doesn't care about the health of it's citizens, only the financial gain from such discoveries or research and only if that gain outweighs the benefits of people staying sick.
