I think one of the most beautiful things about Hamilton is it's ability to change peoples' minds. It gets not only the hip-hop heads interested in theatre, but also the hardcore history nerds who may not be interested in other broadway shows, and it also gets people who are Broadway fans into hip-hop music AND it gets everyone who watches it to become aware of the founding of this nation and the people who built it. It makes these people in our history relatable and it makes people crave to know more information in a way that has never been done for some of us before. For my entire life, I barely scraped by in history classes. I got the grades I needed to get to graduate but I forgot the majority of the information because it just wasn't interesting, but now I know more about Hamilton and the first presidents of this country than I could ever possible need to know lol Leslie was 100% correct in quoting that art has the ability to change peoples minds. And even if not change completely, it has the ability to linger and make people question their thoughts and actions and why they're doing/thinking the things they do. It makes people think. It engages the minds of millions of people and that to me is incredible.

I was incredibly lucky. Part of the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!!!!! from my oldest sister, the two of us and her husband saw it on a Wednesday matinee in March. About the only one of the original cast, who wasn't performing that day was Daveed, although his understudy did a great job. It was possibly the best experience of my entire life. They are all incredible.
