I have so many favorite live performances of hers, I'm hesitant to place anything new near the top, but this certainly deserves it. Her voice and vocal ability has matured so well. Even though she's always had a gorgeous voice, she's better than ever. And yet, she's never looked more at ease, just having fun.

She uses that studio in several of her videos. It's cool how it can be so radically transformed with lighting and costume color. I saw your thinking that Fredrik should have worn light green pants to blend in. I hadn't noticed, but it made me wonder if the idea was for him to not blend in. Aurora's detail is so meticulous, it must have had a purpose. Yes, that song surprised the heck out of me. It's really something how she has absorbed so many different kinds of music and matches music to lyrics so perfectly.

It's my favorite Aurora song. It has strength and delicacy at the same time, although the intention is challenging and so is its look. I highlight three things: the war cry (or nature's complaint), the piano arpeggio which is a delight, and those two little screams at the end, which according to what I read are used by Nordic shepherds. The lyrics are devastating. Of all the reactions I saw about my favorite song, this is the best, because you don't miss anything. 10/10

Yes, Fredrik controls the looping with foot pedals. You see it a lot better in the "sister" video to this, Some Type of Skin. Not just the breathing, but also one or two piano chords when Aurora is off the keyboard. You see it even better in a few of the small presentation gigs she did when the album came out, like e.g. the Pryzm in London. The point is, it's all done live.

I was at PRYZM and my attention was draw to Fredrik, for two reasons:- Firstly, he was seated and he usually stands and moves about. Secondly, he had no shoes on, so I watched him and saw he was spending a lot of time and effort operating various foot-switches ... whilst playing immaculately.

One of my favorites on her latest album 😊. I know very little about how it's done, but sounds like some looping, and some added sounds from Fredrik's pedals. I love these live stripped Vevo versions, and sometimes even more than the album versions. Initially a bit lukewarm to "A Temporary High", but the melancholy Vevo live version made me fall in love with the song.

The overall simplicity of this kind of set up showcases her brilliance so much (to me, it's even some sort of enhancement or something, like some sort of awesome and almost unreal synergy, but hey). Personally, I've been eveytime blown away by that, for years, and I still am... to the point soliloquizing about it in the comments sections far too often, I guess... But hey, after all, "like, comment, suscribe!", right?😀 Great reaction, don't hesitate to come back in the Queendom and to share it with us.🙂👍

in one shot of this session at Vevo, this song and "Some Type of Skin", you can see a whole row of pedals in front of Fredrik, the guitarist. I think he's controlling some of the effects such as sustained keyboard tones and her looped breaths, because I could occasionally see him step forward at times just off camera.

In fact, there's a loop pad on the floor that Frederic controls, and in this video, you can see him moving his feet to operate it. Additionally, you can also spot it in another performance of "Some Type of Skin" where the camera pans out far enough to reveal it
@stephenbarlow24935 ай бұрын
Thank for you reaction. There is just something about this performance, it has bewitched me in a good way. It's just breathtaking. Aurora gives it her all, not just vocally, but in her movement, and general visual performance. Frederick does his thing on the mandolin, seamlessly, but a also big shout out to the camera operator, who is so synchronised with Aurora, in this one take, that you wonder how it was done. Was there some choreography worked out between Aurora and the camera operator beforehand. But not forgetting Aurora's spectacular vocals, and interpretation, which is different than on other versions of this song. Overall, I just cannot believe how good it was.

Great review of this amazing performance and song. To help with the mandolin stuff, it is actually in a slow 4 beat, but very syncopated across this. However, at the beginning of the album version it starts alternating one bar with four beat, then two of three, one of four, two of three. It does this It happens in this version at 5mins 40secs into your reaction whilst she holds the long, loud high note. It takes a bit of work to work out what is going on!
