Sometimes in between my own work, I take a break to further study different Masters. Since I am living steps away from the Uffizi Gallery, I made myself go and copy a "Madonna and Child" by Fra Angelico. For me "copying" is more like reading a book, going through someone else's research and creation which, surely, becomes part of my work.
