Dude, Did a portrait of my wife that we both felt looked like her very much yet it lacked something. When I followed your direction about getting the background to pull out some of the highlights in her face, it made a world of difference to the degree that I now like the portrait. I was very unsettled with the outcome because it is my wife and it's hung up in the house, and something you said allowed me to find that way to get the object to blend into the background and bring out the highlights in her face. You saved the day! Thank you very much.

good timing, i worked on my background lastnight and now I think i want to work on the face because I kinda disagree with the source Im working from ( so I think resketch it) I don't have a live source with my painting. but do have pattern in my clothing/source so yah this help because i really don't want to follow every detail from my photo.
