@2:25 how precious you are to be so excited to be working with your wife as not only a model, but your business partner and traveling companion. She is beautiful, YOU are most talented, and I pray you get to keep that spark of togetherness as husband and wife for the rest of your lives! All the best from Texas!

Dude, Did a portrait of my wife that we both felt looked like her very much yet it lacked something. When I followed your direction about getting the background to pull out some of the highlights in her face, it made a world of difference to the degree that I now like the portrait. I was very unsettled with the outcome because it is my wife and it's hung up in the house, and something you said allowed me to find that way to get the object to blend into the background and bring out the highlights in her face. You saved the day! Thank you very much.

I have noticed that painters who were trained in the academic style tend to use small brushes to fill large areas. Is there a reason for this? Most books on painting encourage readers to use large brushes.
