It's been a lifelong issue for me, all the way back to my earliest sexual encounters as a teen. I attribute it to being desensitized by circumcision. It's usually faster solo, which can take anywhere from 20min, up to as long as 2 hours, or sometimes not finishing. With a woman, it typically takes at least an hour, rarely less than that, with it sometimes taking all night, (I've gone 5-6 hours several times) or just not happening at all, due to physical exhaustion and/or soreness. Condoms make it much worse and I rarely ever finish while wearing one. It has caused problems in my relationships and casual encounters, because women tend to get upset, self-conscious, or insulted that I'm not finishing quickly enough for them, or at all. I get distracting comments like: "What's wrong?", "OK, you can finish", "OK, finish", "No, really. Finish", "Does it not feel good?", "Can you even feel anything?", "Were you with someone else today?", "Are you just not into me?" etc. which really ruins the mood and makes it even more difficult to finish. I often dread getting physical altogether, especially with someone new, who doesn't understand.

I've dealt with this my whole life and I became really frustrated over the last few months as my gf and I like to have sex often and this issue does get in the way of the potential pleasure to be had. One thing I found through some research that has been really helping is...now hear me out...squeezing your butt. Assuming everything else is ok with you, changing your technique might help. We use our hips to thrust, but there might not be active glute engagement which is limiting the overall sensation. Squeezing your butt as you thrust puts pressure on your perineum which is connected to your prostate which is connected to the tip of your 🍆. Squeezing your glutes as you thrust increases sensation in this way. There's additional build up of internal pressure which increases blood flow, which increases sensation, that increases in pleasure, and voila, potentially an easier finish. If you lay down on your back, and squeeze only your butt, you'll see your hips naturally rise. Treat it like a workout, 3 sets of 15-20 at a medium speed and controlled pace and see how you feel. Focus on your glutes and that general area and you should start sensing a physiological response. Add this feeling/motion into your thrust and it should help with the overall experience Sounds weird, but it's helped me I hope this helps you, thanks for reading

Exercise, stay away from porn and masturbation, it's the devils food, eat food with no labels, take zinc, vitamin D3 and vitamin C. Take it slow in bed let it build naturally too much aggression makes one worry, enjoy and enjoy, relax, maybe to give a time limit, 15 to 20 minutes. Smaller movements are better, it's about doing it in a comfortable time, don't over stimulate in the beginning. The #1 cause of delayed ejaculation is antidepressants which boost serotonin. Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Effexor are some examples. If this is an issue, be sure to speak with your prescribing doctor about the problem. There are other types of antidepressants available which don't cause delayed ejaculation (e.g. Wellbutrin), so you and your doctor can work together to find what works best for you.

Interestingly, you didn't specifically mention a large class of drugs that physicians frequently prescribe that can have a significant effect on ejaculation. A common side effect of SSRI's and SNRI's is delayed ejaculation (or anorgasmia.) I've found that if I get desensitized during sex, I just start giving oral or some other foreplay for a few minutes. It allows me to reset and try again. Tends to work pretty well. Doc, you failed to discuss the importance of assessing chemical reasons. Years ago, a doctor prescribed Zoloft for me. That ended any ejaculations for the next 2 years. Thank you DR. Malik. Some might think that delayed ejaculation is a real benefit. But, as someone who has had this in the past, for me, it was not always. Sure, I could last as long as I wanted for my wife but, after a while she was no longer enjoying it and the desensitization caused me to lose my erection, not finish and causing her distress. Usually after a short rest period, I would regain my erection and finish which was fun but distressing at the same time. The biggest problem was my previous self-pleasure practice and, though I did not know it at the time, my ED med is designed to delay ejaculation. I have adjusted my solo practice and now that we understand about the med it makes our time together more fulfilling. If it looks like it make take too long, she knows exactly what to do for me to release and, I think she enjoys having that power.

It is frustrating when this happens, but I’m guessing in my case it’s aging. Happens most often though if I’ve already done it that day (myself or with partner). Went through a period where I would ejaculate with no orgasm at all and that was incredibly frustrating. My doctor told me some years ago that I had retrograde and if I came off of the adderal the muscle in front of my bladder would probably work as it's supposed to.. about three years shortly after covid I lost all my work benefits and could not afford to keep them up on my own so I could not afford the prescriptions from my dr... I was also getting testosterone from him as well.. I still basically had the same problem every now and again there's a surprise. But it's been part of the downfall of most every relationship I've had since my divorce 12 years ago. It always gets mentioned somewhere along the line. I've also learned when it comes to self soloing it makes a huge difference to use something that's similar to the orifice you desire. As close as you can afford especially if you pull yourself off the market or you're just between phase for a month or two you really really need to stay in the game otherwise when you do get to be with someone you're going to be too used to your hand...

Is it some issue with delayed ejaculation, some mental/emotional issue, or maybe in some relationships, and with age, when ejaculatory orgasm isn't the desired result, when with a partner? Our society, and especially PORN, and other typically accepted ideals (like a man must have orgasm to have 'sex' with a woman?) just assumes a man must have an ejaculatory orgasm to be considered “sex” or 'satisfying'. What if the basal premise, is wrong? Not all people need orgasm, or ejaculation, to have satisfying sexually intimate and satisfying experiences with a partner. How many times have women sexually satisfied a man, but never had a reciprocal satisfaction, from him, after his? What about the seemingly rare man, that is personally satisfied, just pleasing his partner to her or his joy, orgasm, or multiple orgasms, but not needing anything physical/sexual, in order to feel that sense of joy and satisfaction?

Dear Dr Rena, Thanks for not delaying this presentation any longer. It has been long overdue. I found that the major cause of my delayed ejaculation was attributed to a condition called marriage. Sometimes treatable and sometimes not. In any event, I have found anecdotally what seems to make me ejaculate almost immediately every time. I throw on one of your KZbin videos and KABOOM, I’ve got a mess on my hands. Literally. I do feel that I should come see you for some of the physiological testing that you mentioned, light touch, pin prick, maybe something tongue related, etc. How do I contact your office for an appointment and I hope you accept Medicaid.
