Getting your family and friends involved is a little odd I guess everyone is different. Just get it done, ice everything so you don't get swelling, relax for 3 days, nothing strenuous for a week, and your good to go. Glad she explained the myths about them she is completely correct. Good video 👍

Agree, that was henke. The underwear outfit is sponsoring her. It's not the kind of thing you broadcast to friends and family IMO. Have the procedure on Wednesday and be back in the sack by Saturday. @@x-man5056 I agree I wouldn't be caught dead in those weird underwear either. Exactly the urologist I went to he said use the ice and take it easy a few days which is exactly what I did. I know one guy who did not use ice or relax a few days. Instead right after the procedure he decided to just go back to work operating a cat on a logging job. @silverpaw siblings Yes it is . It’s 10k out of pocket. 3-4 hour operation. You then have to find a trained microsurgeon urologist that will do it for you. I had to fly all over Australia to find someone, the wait a year for them to be free. 1 month off work. 70% chance of patency but ignores all the men not even eligible for reversal as too much Vas has been removed. 5 year mark and over 50 % have reoccluded due to scar tissue. Even if sperm is returned to ejaculation , you may still be infertile due to “ anti- sperm “ antibodies now being created . That’s how sperm “ is re-absorbed “ it’s a constant immune / inflammatory cycle, that doesn’t stop after reversal. So it “ might “ be possible to reverse but it’s expensive, logistically difficult , painful and no better than a coin toss.

I got my vasectomy way back 1980, I walked into the Dr’s Office, went to the back room dropped my pants he said to lean back against a desk he shaved and numbed the area a couple of quick cuts and snips tied and cauterized,then put platinum clamps on the severed ends. sewed me up gave me a Kotex to wear for the rest of the day and some pain script. $100.00 later I walked out and that was that!

Thank you for bringing up chronic scrotal pain. I was the 1%, and was never told about this risk. It made my life horrible for YEARS. Finally I went to a different urologist who treated me with a "cord block" and I can live my full life again. Also, in full disclosure, the feel good "tingling" sensation in my testicles during ejaculation stopped after my vasectomy. I know that mine was a "closed" procedure where the vas was tied off on each end and cauterized, which meant sperm have to be absorbed through the blood rather than released, and I am curious if other men have noticed the same? And does it make a difference is the vasectomy was open or closed?

@@leighbyford635 that’s messed up because you are the exception but my jaw has been dropping when I dig deep and hear actual urologist say things like “some reports say 1 in 6”, “I’ve seen reports that show up to 15%” and I’ve also heard from a urologist that 1 in 10 will have mild discomfort that’s not debilitating indefinitely and 20% will have occasional pain now and then??? This is not the sugar coated 1% you get from the surface by Urologist. I also heard a urologist say, “your testicles don’t know you had a vasectomy”. If they don’t know then why are they sore afterwards?
@leighbyford6352 жыл бұрын
@@adamx6000 Well " they don't know " is poor language on the MO side. Testes just keep producing sperm. That's all glands do is make a substance that your body requires. Para-thyroids for example can be removed from your neck and placed into your arm and they will continue making Parathyroid hormone. Medicine uses a term : Differential diagnosis " E.g if you have severe head ache the differential will include High Blood pressure, aneurysm, trauma etc. Then the Dr narrows it down to find the root cause. The differential of chronic pain in vasectomy is raised epidydimal pressure, nerve entrapment, ischaemia, nerve damage, chronic inflammation. Issue is they cannot narrow it down more than that. So treatment is a " crap shoot " so to speak. An expensive one. One issue is epidydimal back pressure. You block the exit and the epididymis pressurises and will usually rupture - multiple times , for ever. Hence the pain can come and go. Or it can never go. 1% is certainly not true. It was quoted as .1% only 8 years ago, then 1% now its 2% but as you say some papers have it at 15%. I suspect its likely 1/10. The entire thing is a bullshit. If you haven't had one, my personal advice is do not! I'm 45 and its the only thing I truly regret, like every day. On top of 20k out of pocket I can no longer enjoy sex, or play sport. It nearly ruined my marriage and has taken a lot of Psychological help for me to get to the point where I feel I can live again. I wish you the very best for your future :)

Getting a vasectomy was the worst decision of my life. I lost my wife and my man hood. I did it at age 27, a little over 16 years ago, I noticed a big difference in the way ejaculation felt and my overall energy immediately afterwards. I lost all my testosterone and it feels weird and dulled in a uncomfortable way when I ejaculate. I can't explain the feeling. You would have to feel it yourself. The only time I feel normal is when I'm taking testosterone. Which I had to start doing at age 29 because my levels were so low. The wrong feeling I get with ejaculation has never went away and I'm now 43 years old. This happens to other men too. Look it up before you talk trash. Please, please look it up before getting one!

My vasectomy went terrible. It was 30 years ago and I still wince when I think about that day. It was the end of the day and the Doctor seemed a little old to still be doing this. It started with the Doctor taping my unit to my stomach before poking me the nuts with a needle for novocaine. Yes, it was very painful. After going numb the Doctor seemed to be having problems with one of testicles. Then the Doctor says" have you have had any medical problems down here" as I can feel him pulling on my nut sack. I said" No Doc what's going on?" He replies" I can't seem to get this one" as it feels like he is pulling on my tonsils through my nuts. On the way home I asked my wife to stop for a 6 pack. She handed me one and I put it on injury and asked for another then finally cracked the third one. It's about then that the valium finally kicked in.

@leighbyford6352 жыл бұрын
Well , the prostate is removed , so no more semen. You are bilaterally vasectomised when having a radical prostatectomy. So, 100 % sterile after surgery. Huge risk of impotence too from nerve damage. The sperm production continues and will be broken down by constant immune / inflammatory cycle but higher up as the vas is cut close to the prostate in prostatectomy.

Was over 30 minutes beginning to end, nearly passed out from that first injection which was NOT a small poke. Was not an easy 3 days for me. Was out of one job for 2 weeks (Well one week i already had for vacation time setup. Took 8 days before i could walk normally and 12 before i was able to have any kind of sex or start the "Cleansing" period. 3 months later every single ejaculation hurts. Any kind of tugging hurts. and has actually gotten worse over past 3 weeks. Before i would just feel a pain in my testies but now i'm getting a pain of what feels like the Vas Def from the cut all the way to my bladder. Called doc up, wait just ice it, make sure you wearing something to keep them tight (Started wearing Boxer Briefs due to this and my wife loves them on me XD), and some ibuprofen. It helps a little but not a lot. Sex feel better than doing it myself as the skin isn't being tugged on as much but yea. It sucks. Had I know it was going to be like this I wouldn't have gotten it or gone to someone else. My doc just had me go to this guys because all their Urologist are months out due to Covid stuff.
