What people forget about bane is that he’s one of the most tactical, smartest opponents Batman has to face. In the comics what makes him different from other villains is that he’s not an average stupid thug. One of the best portrayals being the Arkham origin game

I'm reading Knightfall now for the first time and oh my god what a crazy one it is. Batman becoming emotionally and physically exhausted after catching one Arkham inmate after an other and Bane is just sitting waiting for the right moment to finish him off. Because of that, I find Bane way more compelling now than I did before

I agree but outside of Tom Hardy and Arkham Origins, he's not written properly. He usually wrote a just a brute who like a henchman or hired help while the comics originally wrote him as a intellectual genius and tactician on par with Batman and is fully capable of being a great fighter without using his Venom.

Bane from Justice League: Doom (6:54) has got to be one of my favorite portrayals of the character. With the screen time he had in that movie, they established that this Bane is very much the physical and intellectual equal to Batman. Just like he's supposed to be. Also, I just find his delivery of the line "I won't repeat it" so badass. You know he meant it, and Batman knew it too and had to be defensive, for the most part.

I kinda like 'The Batman' Bane. I think its the fact that his face is completely concealed and his outfit seems to spread out nicely when he transforms and all the yellow tubes around his body. Its an interesting take in my opinion. Personally not a fan of the Dark Knight one myself but then again I am just going off appearance as I haven't seen the movie but I think if you showed me that version without telling me it was Bane and I didn't already know, I wouldn't eve consider Bane as a choice. That's just me though and I respect that others like this version.

I think because a human body has give when it is standing. A metal gate is attached to the walls on either side, and brick walls have no give. They both shatter. An equivalent test would be if Batman had his feet cemented into the ground and his hands shackled to the ceiling. Then, of course, Bane would destroy him in one horizontal punch. But when they fight in open space and Batman gets hit, he gets sent flying. A scary thought: Giving The Flash Bane's venom would be insanely destructive.
