Renata - Sugrįžk (euro disco, Lithuania 1995)

Typical Lithuanian 90's disco pop track by unknown female singer Renata, discovered on the collection cassette "Pop Asorti 2" from 1995.

Something tells me this is Renata Dambrauskaitė, ex GAMA (1994-95). I just listened to their two albums and if it wasn't because Asta is the lead singer and if Renata didn't sing so high pitched (I'm guessing to match Asta's voice) and sang at the same volume as Asta, I'm sure I could verify this better, but who knows!

Okay no, it's a different Renata, Renata Piliutytė. She also appears on Pop Asorti 3.

The first song like this that I ever listened to was Belarusian, and I have been obsessed with this music ever since. Look up "Verasy - Polet"; it's not the best song ultradiskopanorama has ever discovered but it's from Soviet Belarus and it's okay. Verasy were very famous too; they even have an English Wikipedia page.

Maybe rhythmically it resembles 90s disco polo of the Alias - Gitara (Guitar) also Imperium - Wirują światła (Polish equivalent of the song Miledi - Viskaš Is naujo) type (maybe someone who really knows post-Soviet music can determine the original), but in the Lithuanian version it is distinguished from the Polish version by the influence of Russian disco type Natasha Korolova and Western disco.
