You're in Tokyo, Japan and not sure about what are the things to do in Tokyo? Start with Shibuya! Shibuya Crossing, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku Takeshita Street and Kawaii Monster Cafe - some of the best things to do in Tokyo, Japan all within walking distance. Shibuya in Tokyo is a famed district of fashion and culture. We visit the star attraction, the Shibuya Crossing, grab some sushi at Genki Sushi Tokyo, stroll the shopping streets and take a breather in Meiji Jingu Shrine, the most famous Shinto shrine in Japan. Finally, we end the day with some shopping on the quirky Takeshita street in Harajuku and grab a bite and show at Kawaii Monster Cafe.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
Detailed answer: • How we afford to trave... 😉
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

To Renata and her husband. Are you a professional journalist? Your show is so organized and also the editing is splendid, indeed. The camera work is done by the husband? I was born in the Shibuya area and I have been seeing "Hachikou" for over 60 years. It was interesting to see my living area from your point of impression and view. By the way, your English is amazing. How did you learn your English? I am a retired music producer who started to learned English seriously after my 60's birthday. So I admire your fluency in your second language. The way you speak is so articulate soundwise as well as semantically. I still think in Japanese and translate into English grammatically so it is not natural English. You became a good inspiration. Obrigado.

Hello...late reply. Yes I am a professional journalist from Brazil but living in the USA. We both film as we use multiple cameras...Canon, Japanese. Love their look Thank you...I perfected my English by living in the USA. Really helps. Hachikou must have changed tremendously. Thanks for watching and I hope your English has improved

@@RenataPereiraTV Thanks. So you are a New Yorker. I guess your husband is from NY. Thank you for your encouragement. Studying my second language at my age even without using it is very challenging. Stay safe in NYC. I know the pandemic situation there. The city I live only 3 infectors. During a flu season, we put a mask on any way from November for not giving any virus to other people to protect, as a result we all are protected. That might be one of the reasons having much fewer cases in Japan compered to America and Brazil. I pray for Amerca and Brazil for the quickest resolution.

Arthur Butler Because my credit card points are actually airmiles and every little purchase I make contributes for my future trips 😀😀. And I get to fly using airmiles a lot! So I use credit cards everywhere. If I remember correctly, that restaurant did accept CCs, but everywhere where you need to buy tickets in a machine (like that view point in the beginning), doesn’t. Their machines only take cash...

Hi Eden! Unfortunately not that much in English as one would expect, and not that many people speak English either, especially if you go out of Tokyo. But the Japanese are so friendly that they will try to find a way to communicate with you. Some businesses even had devices that hear your voice and do auto translations. You should definitely get a SIM card or use your own plan if it offers affordable international coverage. We used Google Maps for everything, and it would have taken us much longer to find metro platforms and exists without it. Thanks for the idea, I'm planning to do something like that in time for the people traveling for the Olympics

Renata Pereira thank you for your immediate reply. I’m using a smartphone only, it does really make a huge difference if you use a high values lens. You are well researched with your content.
