I don’t think we misprofiled him. Roberto Martinez plays him as a center back and seems to have convinced him that he’s crucial in that role for the World Cup. However, he needs regular playing time, which might be why Veiga now sees this as his preferred position. It's hard to blame Veiga entirely for this when players like Disasi, Tosin and Badiashile are consistently chosen ahead of him. But with Achempong and Fofana returning, I don't see him as a CB. Also, Lewis Hall is a Newcastle fan he forced his move so no point in keeping him when his heart was at Newcastle. Only regret is selling Maatsen

Can you blame him. No rest for Colwill. Badiashile inspite of mistakes preferred before him. If Cucurella healthy, he starts as an inverted LB. Sometimes, Gusto is selected before him. Chelsea has a diverse stable if players who can be loaned or sold for a multitude of reasons. Not about talent. Each new player is a marketing opportunity. A small profit is still a profit. Throw the opposition off with new faces. Keep the squad guessing during 2 transfer markets. Constantly competing to stay at the highest levels. David Ornstein came out in the summer and said he was told by the club “judge them after the 4 window strategy” the summer window just gone was just the 4th window, so guess what, I’m judging them & the recruitment has been nothing short of a disgrace. Pure hopium, but I’d like to hope that the owners SURELY can’t be happy with having to sell players 6 MONTHS after just acquiring them. In any case, the January window & the upcoming summer window will tell us everything we need to know about Clearlake’s policy moving forward. We are also having to sell off all our academy players to fund the transfer mistakes we make elsewhere. So they are leveraged at 5x . Sell one academy player for 20m and you can buy other players for 100m amortised over 5 years, so no impact on profit and loss in the current year. We are at the point where you suspect every trade for a prem player is a PSR deal and every other deal is to make a profit. We don’t seem to buy players to strengthen the team. And every sale seems to weaken the squad. And we are going to see a lot more coming up

Just brainless buy and sell hoping something might work. Sacking managers every 12 months so the system keeps changing and the players never fit the system.
