Renault 5 GT Turbo Driven On The Limit !!! || Javier Carracedo - Driver & Tuner

This very innocent looking Renault 5 GT Turbo may seem not all that modified and quite simple, but it´s one of the most Legendary Monsters in Spanish Rallying and Hillclimb Racing. It is the product of over a decade of preparation and Racing by Javier Martinez Carracedo, who devoted is Motorpsorts career to the French FWD Hatchback,
Knowing the machine inside out really is a great help as not only he went on to extract well over 200Hp from the 1.4L Turbocharged engine, but has also an almost telepathic relationship with the little Monster. And that translates to a spectacular driving style and incredible speed, beating much more modern and powerful competition in every race it enters. It is the product of pure talent and years of dedication and that´s something that needs to be celebrated by every Racing enthusiast.

Its a freaking Turbo car and the driver driven it like big block NA engine car. What a cornering. To avoid turbo lag, he using drift/sliding to avoid power loss. Awesome drive! Used to have one of these, just loved it to bits, mine only did around 130hp though before the Turbo blew, after the rebuild it was never the same. In typical Renault fashion the electric windows didn't work so fitted old school lever for it. No power steering and bunch of turbo lag, but annihilated most GT cars that were in fashion at the time, Colt, Galant and Corollas GT's of the day.

My mate had one of these in 2002 a white one with the official body kit on it. He fitted a massive Garret turbo to it in place of the stock turbo, it lagged forever but when it spun up it was a little rocket!

It does not take huge balls just experience with the car , it can be relatively easy if you know what to do and what not to do .

@@robertlund5694 i respectfully disagree. It does take balls of steel to drive these things the way these guys did and its anything but easy. But i still dont think fwd cars can drift. Im pretty sure of it.

What an awesome car the 5 GT is. I never got to drive one sadly but i did spend about a year in the passenger seat with a fairly skilled driver. The car never failed to impress. I remember on several occasions on the streets of Blackpool and the surrounding country roads watching the faces of Porsche drivers as we left them standing Lol. In the right hands it really is like a formula 1 go cart. In the wrong hands its just a horrific accident.

most fwd rally drivers do? yes on the tarmac. even regular people with enough auto cross experience will scandinavian flick a fwd since u can pretty much always pick it back, when it comes to rwd thats a different matter.

I love this car:in past I have 7 (!!!) Gt Turbo and one of these are street-original arranged for race (less than Gr.N),but in many race have go fastest of car more powerful....
