Renault Megane indicator bulb replace

One of the indicators on the Megane wasn't working and I could not get the bulb out. I had to take the headlamp out so I could remove the bulb. Not that much of a big deal but still to much just to change a bulb. The bulb was OK and the problem was the connector was a bit corroded. In the olden days indicators had a coloured lens on them that you removed to change the bulb, life was simpler back then...

Watching this while listening to my partner scream at my "Stupid French Car". Why does it have to be so difficult.

They are stupid, nice but stupid. I have an old 2001 scenic now that I am making a video on replacing an injector plug and it's the same with that, you have to take half the car apart to get at what you want.

Renault was too stupid back then for having to remove the bumper, On loads of their 1994 - 2009 cars.

It would be easy with tiny hands and if the bulb holder twisted like it was supposed to. But mine didn't so this happened.

I managed to remove the bulb holder. I know the holder was properly stuck, because I broke the wings of the holder off in pieces before trying this trick. I removed the inner fender and placed a led light close to the battery so that I could see the bulb holder. Then I took a long, quite big flat head screwdriver and placed the head between the stopper and the bulb holder, pushed and twisted. The bulb holder moved, victory!

All my years of working for them we have never had to remove a bumper for a bulb unless the car is fitted with xenon lights and even then it's quicker just removing the plastic arch

Not with this one. No way would the bulb holder twist. even with the arch removed you could not get enough access to the bulb to get a good grip.

@@SteveSims I'm with you fella yeah the plastic tab on the indicator holder issnt the strongest aswell

Steve Sims i twisted it but it wouldnt come out due to the car frame in the way
