Only thing I’d say is, you don’t need to remove the two lower door handle screws. They are a cause of creaking if not tightened properly, so worth checking whilst you are there.

Megane Vlogs will do! I've just subbed. Did you get the part direct from Renault?

Nathan Mason Nathan Mason hi pal, yeah just got it from Renault but I worked at a garage at the time so not sure if they got it on trade for discount.

Hi how do I take out the deadlock out? My door won’t open, taken the panel out but I just can’t see how to remove the lock mechanism

With check straps that make that clicking sound it is normally because the bolts have come lose where the check strap is bolted into the door frame. ? Great vid with the Pollen Filter. There's an old saying there's a right way and a French way.
@OliverReilly15 жыл бұрын
Nigel Hopkinson haha very true about the old saying! That is another thing that clicks, you’re right, but mine were done up tight and still clicked. Never quite worked it out, but it’s all sorted now. It was the passenger side which never gets used that much which is a strange one also!

Can you tell me please how did you glue back the white foam foil ? Thanks!
@OliverReilly14 жыл бұрын
Radu Nan it just stick back on after cutting it. No need to re-apply glue. If it won’t stick back on well, best thing to do is use something like gorilla tape. To hold it on. If you don’t stick it back on properly, you can end up with water in the door pockets, which then soaks the floor carpet, so make sure you put it back on right.

Hi mate. Where did you buy the check strap from as im browsing ebay and they say its not compatible with the mk3. Cheers dude
@OliverReilly16 жыл бұрын
jamboSAFC I got it from Renault themselves. Any dealer will be able to get one for you. I’m not sure which will fit your car, so that’s the best info I can give really. Sorry I can’t be of more help

Greasing rollers on new limiter is not good to do. Install it dry?
@OliverReilly14 жыл бұрын
Ivan Martinko it’s part of the service interval so I’m afraid you’re wrong. That’s partly the reason why it failed - because it wasn’t greased from new.

How much was the part? Think I’ll tackle this problem over Xmas.
@OliverReilly16 жыл бұрын
nick collins it didn’t cost a lot at all. Something tells me no more than £20 but I bought the part well over 2 years ago. It sat in my toolbox for about a year before I decided to tackle it! 😂😂

Tried the process today. The torx bolt was damaged and I am unable to remove it. Ordered a bolt extractor set online and will try tomorrow. Until I fix this, I will have to use the passenger door to get out of my car.

My torx bolt is damaged to. Couldn't get it out with an extractor. Have you managed to get the bolt out?
@georgiosf.1223 Жыл бұрын
@@adamcapewell7806 I tried a lot of different extractors. The only one that actually worked for me was the "Thinkwork Impact Bolt Extractor Set, 13+1 Pieces Nut Removal Tool". I had to cut the iron out using an electric rotary cutter, to make space around the bolt's head. Then I hammered a socket from the toolset into the bolt's head and used a long torque wrench to get it moving. Regular wrench would not move it. I guess it helped that the bolt got hot while I was cutting the iron around the bolt's head. While waiting for the tools to be delivered, I sought for professional help. Long story short, everyone refused to deal with it. The garage advised going to a body work specialist and vice versa. I even went to a tyres replacement centre thinking that they would be dealing with broken bolts all the time, but they also suggested going to a garage. This was one of the hardest DIY I have ever done, certainly when it comes to my car.

@@georgiosf.1223 Thanks for the reply. Glad you get it sorted. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and cut the strap off to get to that bolt. Wish me luck!
@georgiosf.1223 Жыл бұрын
@@adamcapewell7806 Good luck! It took 2-3 days for me to get it sorted, mostly because I did not know what tool to use. At some point I almost felt defeated. There might be a better way of doing this but what I described above was the only thing that worked for me. Let me know how it goes.

can i swap front and back ?
@OliverReilly1 Жыл бұрын
I think back ones may be different - a bit shorter from memory but just check part numbers before ordering. It’s a similar process in terms of fitting them.
@vidstjepanvlahovic856 Жыл бұрын
@@OliverReilly1 oh yes i saw yesterday, they are bit shorter. need to take them down and just replace after i put grease its not squeaking anymore now its making awfully loud clinking noise
