The Mégane R.S. 280 Cup is so nice to drive, and so a drive up to Genting is a must.

@@elwinbu5926 that's true however you have to compare the wheelbase or length of the car and weight. The 5 series isn't as agile as this car due to the size. this car competes with the 2 series or 3 at most (due to the 3 series' size). Megan RS is around 172in whereas 5 series is at 195in, huge gap This is alot shorter than even the 3 series at around 185in. PS: I'm talking ab the cornering speeds not straight line acceleration.

This is not the trophy r with carbon wheels brakes no rear seats that did the record. That car is limited production and costs twice as much as a type R going full race car, the type R is still the faster better car for the road and track use for the price

Great drive uncle! I hope you can bring back the camera view from one of your previous drives where you showcase the POV of the drive from the middle passenger seat. That view was more stable too and can see how the car actually climbs the hill from within the car! Helps put things to perspective imo.

Few years ago I tried to chase a megane with my Evo7 in downhill genting. I get ditched after few corners... did some research in google then found out it’s one of Nurburgring king car. Very interested, but in the end I bought A45 a less agile car 😂

I would say the Mégane RS is in between the GTi and the Golf R. It will s better than the GTi and a little lower than the R. If you want a manual, the Mégane RS is the only one that offers it.

Hi Uncle YS, I am in a dilemma between a Megane RS280 and FK8 because I couldnt test drive the latter car which is no longer available by Honda Malaysia. In terms of pure driving experience, car and driver connection, chassis dynamic and feedback with manageable power as well as the sense of reward for revving the engine, which will be a better choice? Does the 4control feels unnatural for a FF car? Also the rear torsion beam against the rear multi link in both cars respectively, how do they fair one another? Appreciate your feedback please

Uncle, since you have driven the Type R already...which one you prefer when come to cornering?

The two behave very differently - the Megane tucks in when you turn, and the 4Wheel Steer system helps. Overall, they are very close, and with these type of cars, the longer you drive them, the faster they become. I drove this one up 3 times - what you saw on video was the first one. Basically as we drive we become more confident as we get used to the car. You don't want to go into the bushes at any time, so the first time up, we are always feeling the car, and also have plenty of reserve - it may look fast, but we are actually going 'slow'. To get a true comparison, we need to close the road, and drive both the cars up at the same time, which is impossible, so we drive them up immediately, one after the other, and to be fair, we have to drive each one at least twice, withing the same time window - just sharing my views.

Kinda interested in Renault Subscription service. As I don’t think I will want to own this type of car for long period. As they are usually for fun experience. I already have a Sedan for family and runabout :)

It is a less powerful version, with a 1.6 engine, 205 horsepower. Yes, it should be guite fun to drive too.
