the recaros are a good sell on option, but the original rs seats are way more comfortable and just as able. The LSD and cup suspension are amazing. The Renault Monitor is an interesting option. Probably more useful than the sat nav as any smart phone has all the sat nav you could need. Simply a brilliant car. I'll be keeping my capsicum red for many years to come.

I have no experience of the standard seats on track. There the Recaros work very well for me. Comfort is decent but not super. My son complains a bit if the trip is in the 2-3 hour range.

@@hoojiesgarage1542 My 50 year old back is still suffering from a battering from my Clio 182 years! I found the original rs seats a great relief, but im not a track specialist like you. I have to do the shopping and take my son to school in mine! Fantastic cars with or without recaros! Great video, and I love the Black. My 182 was Black Gold. Wish I hadn't traded it!

I have the same car, same color with the red accents but with the normal sports seats. 300 hp, back seats taken out and installed the red rear strut bar and the luggage net from the Trophy-R plus put a Liteblox battery in. And I don't even track the car.... Unbelievably fun car, tight corners it can keep up with any car. I used to have a 250 Cup first with the Recaros. I don't like the facelift versions with the bigger Renault sign. I hope I will find another pre facelift 265 in black once mine reaches the end of its life.

Great review. I have one too, also with the straight-piped centre silencer. An essential modification. Sounds so good now. Enjoy!

One thing worth mentioning Hoojie that you skipped over, hold your finger down on the RS button until it beeps, this will disable the ESC making the car a bit more driveable.

Love the review. In the market for a competent car. Torn between this and a...Accord CL7 Euro R japanese import. Anyone with some insight to help me make the right choice? Was always a fan of high reving n\a VTEC engines but this Megane is much newer and seems to offer a competent package for it's money

Hey mate, I drive a 265 Cup and am enamoured with it. The cornering grip is something else. My Dad used to have the Accord Euro, not the R version, so my experience isn't apples to apples. However, that wouldn't hold a candle to the Megane RS.
@vMaxHeadroom3 жыл бұрын
I have the Megane RS as well and it is just stellar! For the money, it cannot be beaten, great performance, great handling and is so much fun..

Accord is an hidden gem!!! Uff that is an hard choice. Will it be your only or main car or a secondary? If you find an MINT/restored/low miles accord type r or integra type r dc2 as a secondary, I would pick one over a megane. But if you actually need will just use it as a daily or usually driven car, maybe the Megane.

@@cutdepiefails6596 Thanks. I ended up sticking to my FN2 due to financial reasons..
@cutdepiefails65963 жыл бұрын
@@golf1diesel fn2 is bloody brilliant. All it needs is an intake (for that bark), (an 3 inched muffled exhaust and headers with a tune to make everything work as it should), m factory lsd and the fd2 oil pump to free the engine revs (idk how but it feels like a light weight flywheel). New bushes, bilstein b6 with eibach and it literally is the perfect daily fun car. I'm actually looking at one & another megane, megane is getting the edge as the money an fn2 needs (fixing + some upgrades) around now x the price of buying, takes it to late 275 trophy prices.

Because these cars have stiff suspension, does that mean all these car will eventually get lots of squeaks and rattles from constantly going over lots of bumps ?
@hoojiesgarage15423 жыл бұрын
Probably. If you are easily annoyed by buzz, squeaks and rattles, I wouldn't really recommend this car. This is a car for those that seek a track capable road car for reasonable money, and there it really excels.

@@hoojiesgarage1542 what about if im thinking about buying one as a daily driver ?

@@johnmiceter If you can resist the daily temptations of not keeping any speed limit, and if your roads are fairly smooth, go for it!

@@hoojiesgarage1542 True, i got the normale Megane coupe and that is already pretty uncomfortable on bad roads. Recently drove over cobblestone. Felt like everythign was vibrating and traffic behind me was annoyed by me driving so slow. They probably didn't feel anything in their SUVs. The RS is even more stiff as far as i know. But overall the non RS megane coupes are fine for daily use, unless you live in rural russia or something.

What is a folded luggage floor?
@hoojiesgarage15423 жыл бұрын
Hi HC. On my car the rear part of the floor in the trunk can be lifted up and also be folded forwards. If one also has removed the "parcel shelf" between the rear seat and the rear window, then you will hear more sounds from the exhaust system. Especially pops & bangs.
@cheukinator3 жыл бұрын
@@hoojiesgarage1542 you're the best. I have a rs265 also. Only mods are short shifter and mid pipe delete. Love the way it handles

Where do you live, and which tracks are nearby?😊
@hoojiesgarage15423 жыл бұрын
South western Sweden. Around 1,5 hours of driving to reach: Kinnekulle Ring, Anderstorp and Falkenberg. Add an hour and one will reach: Gelleråsen and Ring Knutstorp. Another hour for: Rudskogen (Norway), Sturup Raceway and Mantorp Park. There is an interesting track at the island of Gotland also, a whole day of driving including several hours on a ferry to get there.

Any modifications?
@hoojiesgarage15423 жыл бұрын
Front brake pads are "harder". Front wheel spoilers removed. R-tyres and racing fluids, that's all. Just want a good track toy that is easy to drive on the limit, not a time attack winner :-)
@PureLeeful3 жыл бұрын
@@hoojiesgarage1542 They're perfect for that. I have a black 275 Cup-s. The mods I have are Pf z rated pads with Rbf 600 brake fluid. I also did a mid silencer delete on the exhaust which cost £50, gives it a bit more character especially in sport or race mode with pops and bangs. I removed the back seats too, so it's pretty loud inside. Hope you keep enjoying yours and your channel grows. Subscribed. 👍👍
@hoojiesgarage15423 жыл бұрын
@@PureLeeful Thanks. I forgot to mention, my car also has a mid silencer delete. It passes race track 95 dB requirements without any issue. I think it mainly gives louder pops & bangs. No parcel shelf and folded luggage floor makes them well audible. I made the same thing for my Audi A2 daily driver, mostly for lower weight and improved aero :-) Exhaust note only changed slightly. The A2 will be presented during the coming weeks.
