Going through a flood, with air inlet so low, he's lucky he didn't hydrolock the engine. Great job, Jimmy, going the extra mile to replace also the crankshaft pulley that customer didn't know of.

As always thanks for the nice content video! Would moving the upstream pressure sensor pipe connection to the same position where the dpf differential pressure sensor (before) is connected (with a Y-connection) solve the pipe clogging problem?

Jimmy Most probably the van has a chiptunning what killed the vibration damper pulley, It is a usual symtphom. Hard to imagine a normal van with such a young age and low milage has this kind of damage... not surprised if dpf and other stuff are also failing... lack of luck of chip tunning :)
@86andywАй бұрын
Probably the oil leak has deteriorated th rubber in the crank pulley.

Hi I've been following your channel for quite some time now. And very impressed with your work. I have a 2010 Ford Galaxy titanium the 1.6tdci version. And been having DPF issues on and off since we owned it. In the 4 years I've owned it I've used the expensive dpf cleaners you spread directly into the dpf several times. Also completely removed the dpf and cleaned it. I noticed recently again not doing its own regeneration. Tried a forced regen using the fscan programme but it failed. I then sprayed the JLM dpf cleaner into the dpf. But the thing with the fscan programme there is no way to show the dpf load, soot 1:36 level etc. I know you use the Launch X431 tab 3 diagnostic tool but is there anything a bit affordable for the DIYer mechanic that does similar jobs. Unfortunately I haven't got a spare £6000 hanging around. Any recommendations or tips would be very appreciated.

That's a terrible low place for air intake
@danielseibert4082Ай бұрын
No the intake sits higher. The tube does not reach down so far. Intake is about 50cm above the ground. right under the right headlights

Had my 07 octavia 2.0tdi in for a service today. They said the sump plug stripped the threads as they took it out. It's 80 pounds to fit a heli coil they get a guy to come in and do them. They don't do themselves. Does any of that sound normal to a mechanic.? They are a full on garage mot testing etc
@chucky2316Ай бұрын
That is more of a engineering job. It depends on the mechanics I guess alot of them are really just fitters these days. They sound like cowboys if they stripped youre sump plug
@chrisnewell-7758Ай бұрын
You can buy oversized tap and sump plug kits. I had the garage do it as I'd used thread lock and silicone sealer to keep the oil in to be able to use the vehicle, £70
@apbosh1Ай бұрын
@@chucky2316 yeh I'm not convinced the thread got stripped on removal of the plug. It's not extortionate but the time delay is a problem
@apbosh1Ай бұрын
@@chrisnewell-7758 if he phoned me and said there's a problem couldnt avoid it's 70 quid to fix and I can do it now, I'd be okay but he was saying it might take 2 days for the guy to turn up the usual guy is on holiday. 3 to 5 days without a car for a service!

It's a good job I do all my car servicing myself and I don't torque more than 30Nm on the Sump plug... Some garages use impact wrench 🙅🙅
