In this Blender tutorial, we have discussed how to view an accurate measurement of your models and how to print it or render it in the output. We have discussed two different tools. Blender has a built-in tool called Measure, it is very easy to use but it does not get rendered. There is a built-in add-on that also comes with Blender, it is called MeasureIt. MeasureIt is good for quick work, but MeasureIt Arch is what you really need. Its measurements will rotate with your view so they're always facing the viewport angle. You can also use it to set up precise scaled renderings just like you would in a CAD program. E.g. 1:200 scale. You can have it use a dedicated Title Block. And it can even add outlines to your objects. If you do archviz work in Blender, this is the #1 recommended way to get CAD style renderings.

This tool is used only to show you the measurements. It can help you to plan and scale your objects as needed, but the tool itself does not change the scale of your objects directly.

The measure tool doesn't change ends when you move the verts, so it's not really useful for editing things to be the right length. You can measure a segment with measure-it, then move the verts or scale or whatever until things read the right size.

Ok, taken a note. That tutorial is hardly useful though, you need to manually edit each frame, like 1800 frames for a 60-second clip. We must find out a better way for this 🤔

Bullshit workflow, when we have native tools for measuring then why measureit dont copy those measurement to make them permanent or to present them in better way.

Valid concerns. But it is not easy (and sometimes not possible) to copy values from Blender's native functions. These functions are mostly written as C modules that are compiled along with Blender exe. So an add-on cannot access those values unless they are exposed via some properties. If we write add-on in C, we can access most of these values, but then the add-on cannot be installed as a python module as easily as we enable/disable an add-on today. We need to recompile Blender's source code and distribute the same for every add-on, which is next to impossible. As an add-on developer I also often encounter similar roadblocks 🙁

@@5MinutesBlender then why not blender developers implement themselves such feature because 50% of 3d work is based on precision and measurement which is very basic necessity. Designing always need measurements of physical world. But I also agree that except SketchUp blender is by far most precise mesh modelling program. 3ds max not even show edge length and not having such measure tool even after being favourite of archviz artists.

@@kalpit3d934 Blender is a crowd-source project, they may not have sufficient funding to hire programmers for various different functions. For example, in one of my interaction with the dev team they informed me that currently no developer is working on the physics functions, so no new development or bug fixes are happening in physics. I guess it's the same for many other areas as well.
