I'm here because I'm thinking about purchasing The Passion of The Soul. I was searching for a review. I came across this lecture and I found it to be quite interesting! I remember once having a near out-of-body experience 13-14 years ago. I will never forget! There are parts of that experience I vividly remember. One: Loosing track of time and confusion upon reawakening. Two: A sudden thought came to me, "two in one." For years I couldn't figure out what "two in one" meant. I realized when it's the appropriate time to know, the message will be clear.

Amazing interpretation on the connection between the Mind ,Body Soul we often forget we are integrated. We just need to get the Medical perternity to acknowledge that our Soul plays a significant role in our recovery and existent. .

I only watched the first 5 minutes but I couldn't go on due to a misunderstanding I may be having. In my personal studies i found that the "mind" or brain/organ of common sense is apart of the body. In your descriptive chart it seems that you are separating the body from the organ of common sense. In my understanding, Descartes specifically refers to the mind as the soul now pure intellect working in conjunction with the phantasy or imagination. It would seem to me that in the first five minutes or so, what you are describing is not the mind, but the brain/organ of common sense. But this is only my interpretation of what Descartes describes

i'm sorry if i came off the wrong way. unfortunately, i don't quite have the luxury of holding discourse on such topics with actual live people lol and because of this, it is my hope that you might excuse my rusty rhetorical skills (they're still in the process of major development haha) Though, the reason why i stopped your video at 5 minutes was not due to my not wanting to consider alternative points of view, but more so that I wanted to "agree on terms" if you will. I can only afford self-study right now so there is really no other way for me to know whether my understanding on such a topic like the mind and body is correct other than through expressing my understanding as i did in my previous comment. I sincerely only stopped watching not as a means to be closed off to other view points but only to ensure that I first have at least a foundational or intuitive understanding of these natures (as expounded on by, descartes) which i was hoping that you would verify only so that I don't move farther along your video into dimensions i might not be prepared for (i'm trying to exterminate down those "heedless" acts of observation and judgement that descartes counsels us on lol). excuse me if I originally came off rude, professor, it certainly was not my intent! cheers, del g.

Gregory B. Sadler Tell that to Lawrence Krauss Richard Dawkins Neil Degrasse Tyson And many other prominent scientist. As someone who studies philosophy I agree that it has not caught up with the science, and much of it is nonsense with useless arguments about what idealist believe and the nature of reality Nothing more than mindless piffle. Since you are already invested in philosophy your opinion can only be taken at a grain of salt seeing that you are biased.
