First, people who have the courage to run for public office should be applauded. The majority of us are arm chair critics. I give these bold individuals the benefit of the doubt....and then make my call on who is best at this critical juncture to lead and get the city on track to thrive in all its unique and wonderful ways. In regards to this interview, Commissioner Gonzales does a great job sharing his vision, identifying the most pertinent issues and does so with clarity and heart. He has my attention.

Finally, Gonzalez should update his "official" website: his funding should include the donations of oh, $100+; & his endorsements should be for those for MAYOR, not from when he was running for Commish, when he did that massive smear job on Hardesty. Some may have withdrawn their support thereafter?

@@CorkieFries & RG has hated the PSR project that she got off the ground & has been so successful. Seems he just couldn't put an end to it? so now he's decided to take ownership of it, but of course, with some of his special 'adjustments.' What made me so irate about him - he continually made it look like Hardesty was responsible for the 'Homeless Crisis' when that was never even under her purview.

This guy is the best thing to ever happen to Portland, he's the first person this City has ever had to speak directly. First and foremost a city needs to be safe free of crime and definitely as most people here don't realize you need income from businesses this guy understands it all he's not wishy-washy he's not speaking from flaky ideology which is what Portland has lived on for years this let's keep Portland weird and different clearly doesn't will never work just look outside. Pampering to criminals not arresting people for dealing drugs and illegal acts is not reality.

Don't vote for this guy. I don't trust him. He speaks in complete sentences, uses correct grammer and syntax, and relies on reason and logic. Instead...The best thing to do is stay the course and have more meetings, appoint more commissions, hire consultants to do more study's, use more words like intersection, and systemic, and restorative, and colonialism, and outreach partners, and houseless, and phobic, and folx. We need to vote for someone who wears either red or blue glasses. (Possibly pink). Let's continue our successful policies that have driven so many evil capitalists from our city so far. Also, our policies of demoralisation are going nicely. The children can only read at 42% proficiency, and are much more easily bowed to our leadership. Just wait comrades. The Socialist Utopia is right around the corner!

I find it hypocritical that a politician considers policy discussion with a constituent in public an assault. Then later refers to it as a terrorist attack. This is the opposite of a transparent city hall. Portland doesn't need a Mayor who plays the victim role rather than engaging citizens in active civil discourse on public policy!

"Left of Center?" Earache my eye! So, one of his larger "Donors" is Betsy Johnson, who as it turned out & sans her support for CHOICE, was closer ideologically, to Drazan, than say, Kotek. AND, what do you know, but Tim Boyle was also a major Donor to BJ's run for Gov, to boot. I can't wait for him to put up his Donor's List (names & amounts +$100) on his "Official Site."

BTW, you go to his official website, & you can't hardly find anything on his "financing" & very little about his endorsers either. Well, unless you are ok with who endorsed him just for a commish job in 2022? Be sure to note those aren't 'endorsements' for Mayor necessarily, but from his last campaign.
