Him, Delle Ali, Mount, and many other English players got so much PR and hype without achieving anything substantial. If only the media would stop overhyping English players for no reason...

Many said for years all the players you mentioned were not that good. The media built them up to something they weren’t like you said.

Rashford for me isn't a smart player, never has been. But to be fair Alli and Mount WERE doing the business, Mount was player of the year in a Champions League winning season, they just fell off a cliff - Mount in the past few seasons with niggling injuries.

The problem is when players (such as the ones you mention) have one great season they’re regarded as world class. World class is doing it every season.
@G-fd5ug20 сағат бұрын
English media always build players up to knock them down. Rashford was never a world beater if you actually watch him. Was always inconsistent with decision making. He plays the same way as he did as a youngster but doesn’t work as hard

over rated led to overpaid wich led to over expectation and finaly gave an overstress underperforming player

To have a clearer picture over if Rashford is indeed World Class: 1 of 9 seasons, he cracked 30 goals (media kept harping about but that's a blip) 3 of 9 seasons, he cracked above the 20 goal mark 4 of 9 seasons, he cracked above 10 goals, never exceeding 13 2 of 9 seasons he had single digit goal and assist contributions (His 30 goal season sandwiched between 2 poor seasons) If you take the total goals divided by seasons, it would be 15 goals a season (If he was consistent, this is a nice number to depend on, but no, instead with him, it's go big or go mid, which becomes a liability, can managers really rely on him to score goals?) Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists 2015-2016 28 12 2 2016-2017 53 11 6 2017-2018 52 13 9 2018-2019 47 13 9 2019-2020 44 22 8 2020-2021 57 21 15 2021-2022 32 5 2 2022-2023 56 30 11 2023-2024 48 9 6

I was never mad on Rashford the player. What those stats suggest in particular is that his output is on the wane. I guess given the fact that some of this is down to the overall decline of the team in that time but he doesn't pass the eye test.

15 goals on average: On 360K a week Doesn't press well Doesn't track back Doesn't play make Doesn't have killer cross Doesn't play with CF No positional versatility Physical decline

It's high time Rashford moved on, for the sake of all concerned. As Marsellus Wallace said in Pulp Fiction 'You came close, but you never made it and if you were going to make it you'd have made it by now'

Rashford is going to be fine. This has lowered his transfer value, opening up more options for a move away, and he still has the massive signed contract. So United will either get his wages covered by the sale or have to pay the difference themselves. He isnt the player hes been built up to be and needs to move on for his own good.

Makes no sense why he's been built up and put on such a pedistal, take that 22/23 season out of the picture and he's hovering around 7 goals per season, it's crazy he get more air time than Salah, I support United and hate to say it but Mo salah is 10 times the player of marcus
@gohumberto17 сағат бұрын
He never really improved from when he burst onto the scene as a "Wonder Kid". If anything he got progressively worse because he seemed to start believing his own hype and stopped trying. Dele Alli the same. Yes he's only 27 but a Striker's career is over in the blink of an eye. Realistically he has 5 years to do something great or he'll be forgotten, and that would be a real shame.
