That's so great!! 10 everyday is already quite a workout honestly 😊 My friend and her boyfriend do like 8-10 miles hiking, then camp and do that for several days in a row! The shorter distance means they get to chill a bit more in the morning and they enjoy cooking more, forage berries and so on (on designated campfire sites). Works great for them

My father and my brother used to hike Sierra Nevadas around Mt. Owen back in the days when JFK was in office. Standing on the LA aqueduct was bizarre and amazing. All signs of civilization ended very quickly off summit trails. Grateful I got to experience those mountains as a young lad.

I want to do more “Cowboy Camping” like you did in the Chihuahuan desert. Do you take any precautions for scorpions?
@melody_shmelody2 ай бұрын
The scorpions around here can sting but aren’t toxic. They’re also the worst in the summer (June through August) and that is frankly the worst time to hike here. My cousin finds campsites with picnic tables and sleeps on those. But I’ve never even seen a scorpion out there.

I love y'all's videos!! What kind of tent or setup would you suggest? For those who are going through the aftermath of hurricane Helene in North Carolina and Tennessee? It can get pretty cold up there in those mountains during the winter time and they will not be getting any power for several months. We are working on getting donations up to them as quick as possible. What would be the best tents and warm winter supplies that you would suggest that are good for people on a budget trying to help?
