I get it honestly, I've never liked normal spiders but was fascinated by tarantulas and now keep them as pets. They would much rather run from you than interact with you but I get that they're not for everyone 😊

It's very fascinating! A person could fall from an airplane mid-flight and survive with a few broken bones but another could trip on a marble and die. It's really interesting to see the human body survive or die from dramatic and anticlimactic events ☺️

Ok so this is a tiny detail that only a weird spider nerd would know but that was a Calisoga spider and not a tarantula. It’s an incredibly common mistake to make and they’re very similar looking. Hope you have a fantastic time on trail!

We don't have Tarantula's at Lake Tahoe. That was a Calisoga Spider, otherwise known as a False Tarantula. It's more common to see Wolf Spider's here in the Tahoe Basin.

I love Lake Tahoe. I’m from Reno and I used to love going to Tahoe. My husband and I would drive to South Lake and have dinner then we would drive around the lake. It was one of my favorite date nights we would do. Plus I saw Stevie Wonder in concert there so that’s just an added bonus.
