It is nearly October, which means Halloween is right around the corner. I was inspired to make this Spooky Spider Cake, by my fear of spiders! That's what Halloween is all about right, good-natured fright?!

This is an awesome idea to use for my newphews birthday cake! He's having a spiderman theme after all. I already bought a edible fondant picture of spiderman to go on top so I'll do this to the sides. I was thinging of using fondant for the topping, do you think the marsmallow would work on top of fondant? :)

This looked so fun, gave it a try for my grandson's birthday, but wish you had mentioned humidity might affect the spider webs. I'm in Minnesota, in September, and even this humidity is causing my spider webs to melt and shrink, pulling the frosting away as it melts. It is now a mess but I have to give it to him anyway. :-(
